AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH COUNCIL (ARC)
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and foster innovation in support of the agricultural sector. It provides diagnostic, laboratory, analytical, agricultural engineering services, post-harvest technology development, agrochemical evaluation, consultation and advisory services, food processing technology services as well as various surveys and training interventions. Through its wider network of research institutes and experimental farms, the ARC provides a strong scientific base and a broadly distributed technology transfer capacity to the entire agricultural industry in South Africa.
The ARC- Vegetables, Industrial and Medicinal Plants (ARC-VIMP) seeks to appoint a highly experienced and dynamic persons to the following position at Roodeplaat in Gauteng Province:
TRANSPORT OFFICER
Salary (R307 442 – R461 159 pa) all- inclusive remuneration package
Key Performance Areas:
Receives into stock and issue out of repair and maintenance consumables,
Ensures high standard vehicle state of upkeep and cleanliness,
Manages vehicles bookings, issuing and book Km’s against projects,
Pre and post vehicle inspections,
Captures vehicles log sheets,
Monitors the use of vehicles and report irregularities,
Vehicle license renewals and tracker monitoring,
Sends vehicles for service and repairs,
Manages fleet, insurance administration and with assets registration,
Act as a proxy for licensing and ensure payment of traffic fines by employees,
Compile transport and management report,
Ensure compliance to OHS act regulations.
Requirements:
A Degree or National Diploma in Transport/ Logistics/ Fleet Management,
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Fleet Management,
Valid SA driver’s license (code 08/EB),
Proficiency in MS Office Suite,
Knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics AX system will be an advantage,
Good analytical, organizational and verbal communication skills,
Exercising Confidentiality to information,
Willingness to work overtime if required.

A competitive remuneration package will be congruent with the scope, responsibilities, and the stature of the position.
