The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and foster innovation in support of the agricultural sector. It provides diagnostic, laboratory, analytical, agricultural engineering services, post-harvest technology development, agrochemical evaluation, consultation and advisory services, food processing technology services as well as various surveys and training interventions. Through its wider network of research institutes and experimental farms, the ARC provides a strong scientific base and a broadly distributed technology transfer capacity to the entire agricultural industry in South Africa.
The ARC-Agricultural Engineering (ARC-AE) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following position at Silverton, Pretoria:
BUYER
Key Performance Areas:
Processing of purchase requisitions,
Requesting of quotations,
Processing of purchase orders prior to or after the receipt of goods and/or services,
Following up on outstanding orders and ensuring compliance to specifications, deliveries to the premises and collection of goods by end users,
Timely processing of invoices for payment of goods and/or services,
Monitoring the performance of suppliers in terms of the various aspects of Supply Chain Management such as the receipt of goods and/or services,
Issuing of store items to end users.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree/B Com/National Diploma in Supply Chain Management (SCM) specifically in Sourcing, Supply Management or Purchasing Management,
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the Finance or similar environment,
Knowledge, experience and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) and related legislation,
Demonstrate understanding of communication between end users, SCM, Finance and service providers and importance of providing feedback on progress,
Computer literacy and proficiency in the MS Office suite,
Exposure to the Microsoft Dynamics AX system,
Good analytical skills, report writing and organizational skills.
