ARC CHAIRPERSON

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR AN INDIVIDUAL TO SERVE AS CHAIRPERSON OF THE AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE OF THE AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (ADA)
The ADA seeks to appoint a suitably qualified professional to serve as Chairperson of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) of the Entity.
The members of the ARC are remunerated in terms of the applicable Treasury Regulations and relevant approvals/proclamations by the National Treasury. The term of office of the appointed candidate will be 24 months.
QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in Accounting/Finance/Risk Management/Internal Audit/Law or
- A professional designation such as CA(SA)/ACCA/AGA(SA)/CIA/CISA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Professional membership of a recognised profession will be an added
- Experience in serving as an Audit Committee Member or governance structure in a Government institution will be another advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the functional performance of Internal Audit
- Ensure the monitoring of the implementation of a combined assurance from all the assurance providers.
- Review the plans of both the Internal and External
- Review the reports of both Internal and External Audit and monitor implementation of recommendations by management.
- Review the Annual Financial

Minimum requirements
Must have completed matric with at least a 2-year certificate in Project Management/Administration or Finance from a recognised institution; a minimum of 5 years’ working experience managing administrative functions and providing executive support to senior/executive management.’
Computer skills – Applicants must be proficient in MS Office and able to use travel-booking tools, payment processing systems, and basic financial systems. Sound knowledge of business and management principles is required, including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, and methods for coordinating people and resources. Knowledge of relevant legal prescripts is essential.
Knowledge of the following: office administration planning, execution and operational support to ensure optimum functionality of the Office of the COO; management of the Office of the COO; organisational and management practices, policies and operational procedures relevant to the COO’s office; relevant legislation, policies, prescripts and procedures; relevant software applications; and advanced computer literacy.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage the COO’s engagements and calendar.
- Liaise with senior management and communicate programme and activity requirements as needed.
- Provide line administrative support services.
- Develop and maintain office systems for the COO’s office.
- Oversee and advise on the flow of information and documents to and from the COO’s office.
- Conduct research, analyse information, and compile documents, reports, and presentations, including the following:
- Research matters arising from meetings and compile comprehensive briefing documents.
- Draft memoranda.
- Provide meeting support to the COO.
- Screen documents to determine actions required and information to be presented at meetings.
- Manage resources within the COO’s office.
- Determine budget requirements and collate supporting information.
- Record expenditure commitments, monitor spending, and alert the COO to potential over- or under-expenditure.
