Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Ecolabelling Manager to join our team.
Purpose:
To implement and manage all the ecolabelling scheme activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Manage all eco ASA activities
- Manage the issuance of eco ASA ecolabels
- Manage the certification/ licensing of ecolabels
- Conduct environmental impact analysis
- Develop and review existing eco ASA specifications in line with the methodology adopted by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA), by reviewing the applicability of the GECA standards and any other applicable best-practice eco-label standards and their relevance in South Africa
- Adhere to Global Best practices when assessing products, and new schemes for potential certification holders and/or clients
- Review and update the eco ASA business model in consultation with the Technical Group Leaders
- Prepares for and leads eco ASA internal and external audits
- Responsible for all elements of new Scheme marketing
- Provides insights and educates various Stakeholders on new schemes and their impact on ASA business
- Develops and maintains a potential client database
- Develops and maintains a technical expert database, for the purpose of reviewing new environmentally friendly specifications
- Develop and review specific scheme rules
- Develop pilot programs for each of the approved specifications
- Participates in various technical communities of ASA and provides advice on matters relating to Eco-Labelling
- Implement risk management process an procedures in the division and in the execution of applicable task
- Presents and publishes research work to relevant conferences, seminars, workshops, forums, journals, etc., under the guidance from the Research and Development Group Leader
- Undertakes Investigations to any developments within the built environment
- Research the efficacy of each scheme and its impact on ASA’s technical divisions and existing certificate holders or clients
- Investigate the profitability of each scheme and report on how it is received by ASA’s certificate members
- Liaise with various organizations such as GECA, research and report on best-practice ecolabelling standards and their possible relevance in South Africa
- Research and create Marketing plans for the organizations for the targeted organizations and those in the database
- Carry Eco-Labelling Research Projects under the guidance of the Research and Development Group Leader
- Investigate different methods of issuing ecolabels
- Seek Training and develop your own skills
- Support staff development in all technical aspects of Eco-Labelling
- Support the development of staff, especially those that would report in this role
- Ability to develop training programmes and roll them out to various stakeholders including the technical team
- Ability to research new trends and developments and hold workshops internally for various stakeholders including the technical team
- Ability to deliver all Eco-Labelling presentations
Support the implementation and adherence to Agrement Quality Assurance Policy, Procedures, and standards by
- Ensuring that technical outputs of the Eco-Labelling team are reviewed and are of high standards and ensuring credibility and success of the new schemes
- Ensure alignment of new schemes with ASA’s quality assurance principles, policies, and procedures
- Contribute to internal quality audits, especially in line with Eco-Labelling matters
- Perform specialized functions to support various eco-labeling projects that Agrement may deem necessary, and where the incumbent may be deemed as a recognized industry expert
- Prepare technical reports to communicate the successes and criteria used for various schemes
- Perform Any Reasonable Given by the Executive Manager: Technical Services
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Environmental science, Built Environment
- Five (5) Years’ experience as a specialist in environment specification, standards, and development of new schemes and issuing ecolabels experience (especially within a climate-conscious and green environment.
- Exposure to ISO Systems
- Honors/Postgrad Degree
- Total of 10 Years experience with Five (5) Years experience in a specialist role and an additional Five (5) Years’ experience as a manager.
- ISO 14024 Training
- ISO 17065 Training
- Professional Engineering Registration
- Knowledge of PAIA, POPIA, and ASA Act
- Experience in reviewing and/or issuing of ecolabels
- Knowledge and exposure to environmental laws and regulations
- Knowledge and Understanding of QMS, environment standards ISO, SANS, and others
- Knowledge planning, execution, training, and computer skills
- Knowledge of the Built Industry, SABS Standards, and ISO standards

Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to join our team.
Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee ASA’s planning, organizational performance, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of ASA’s projects and interventions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Development of Strategic and Performance Planning:
Ensure a strategic plan and performance plan are developed and submitted timeously to various authorities such as the Department of Public Works and other Regulatory Bodies by performing the following Duties:
- Review the ASA strategic plans and updates in line with newly formed performance targets
- Co-ordinates the gathering of information towards the review of ASA’s annual performance plan and various (other) strategic documents
- Co-ordinates and ensures information are collected and tracks the success and challenges of running ASA projects
- Submits and presents accurate performance reports on all strategic projects to various partners/stakeholders and other regulatory bodies
- Ensure Proper Risk Management Policies and procedures are adhered to
- Ensure adequate and continuous research is conducted for contribution to annual Planning and performance reports
- Drive and ensure proper management of sustainability initiatives
- Conduct extensive research for Planning and Performance monitoring and evaluation
- Liaise with the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) to Keep abreast with the Government reporting Framework
- Ensure that quarterly and annual performance is audited before submission to relevant authorities
- Ensuring Implementation of all Risk Management Policies and Procedures
- Manage the quality management systems across the board
- Establishes a monitoring and evaluation framework within ASA, with clear goals, outcomes, outputs, processes, and indicators
- Supports the CEO, in carrying his mandate by establishing mechanisms for effective monitoring and reporting
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures that provide guidance to various heads of divisions on how various project(s), and interventions should be managed
- Advises divisional heads, project managers, and project specialists (Researchers, Assessors) on evidence requirements for monitoring and reporting purposes
- Clarifies roles and responsibilities of all business units and reports on performance targets that have been reached and reports on both successes and challenges
- Assists various divisions within ASA by aligning their core operational activities with the ASA’s strategic objectives
- Monitors and ensures that various business units perform against their strategic divisional goals and report on identified performance outages on each of the business units and/or divisions
- Present quarterly and annual performance information to the committees, Board, and authorities
- Keep abreast of developments in the ASA environment in line with new products, schemes, affiliations etc.
- Identifies strengths and weaknesses in existing processes and recommends remedial changes to optimize chances of success on all ASA’s projects
- Partner with various project leaders such as Eco-Labelling Manager, Research Heads, and Technical Services Heads and monitor projects in support of the CEO’s mandate
- Investigates suitable data management systems for ASA, and recommends suitable tools for analysis
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management systems and propose solutions
- Conduct Sites visits when necessary and ensure all information is verified, and verifiable for audit purposes
Supports the implementation and adherence to ASA’s Quality Assurance Policies, Procedures, and standards by
- Ensuring that all projects within ASA are completed successfully and all remedial plans are aligned with Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures
- Ensures all projects led by ASA are of the highest quality makes recommendations to business unit heads on plans and strategies and ensures adherence to higher standards of quality as per Quality Assurance Policies, Procedures, and Standards
- Report on Identified Risks in Projects, where Quality Assurance Policies, Procedures, and Standards may have been ignored
- Perform all responsibilities which may be assigned by the CEO from time to time
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- First Degree in Public Administration
- 5 years’ experience in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Environment
- 10 years’ experience in a planning Monitoring and Evaluation Environment
- Honors/Postgraduate degree
