Agrément South Africa (ASA) invites applicants to apply for the following permanent position based in Pretoria: 
 
Research and Development Specialist (Re-advertisement) 
Remuneration : R457067.00 per annum (All-inclusive Cost to Company) 
Reference number : ASA00033/2020 
 
Purpose:
To support the Technical Services Department of Agrément South Africa (ASA) by performing research and development activities related to non-standardised construction products and systems. 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): 
Research and Development: 
• Research related to the market acceptance of innovative construction products and systems. 
• Research related to the socio-economic impact of ASA certified products and systems. 
• Research related to industry best practices in order to improve upon current Technical Services processes. 
 
Criteria Development and Review: 
• Research on best and acceptable Performance Criteria and Test Methods. 
• Development and review of ASA Performance Criteria 
 
Support function: 
• Marketing and promotion of ASA certified products and systems through publication of R&D articles and reports, and maintenance of Directory of ASA Certified Products and Systems. 
• Stakeholder relations development and management of industry partners (at international, national and provincial level). 
 
 
Qualifications and Experience: 
• B Degree in Built Environment discipline or equivalent qualification (NQF level 7) 
• 3 years’ work experience in the Built Environment 
• R&D experience (related to the Built Environment or Environmental Management) (Essential) 
• 2-3 years’ experience in Project Management (Essential) 
 
Other Advantageous Requirements: 
• Master’s degree in the relevant field (NQF Level 9) 
• Exposure in research and development of non-standardized construction products and systems 
• Publications of articles in recognized journals
