SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR

The Office of the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) was established by the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002 (FAIS Act). Its objective is to consider and dispose of complaints in a procedurally fair, informal, economical, and expeditious manner and by reference to what is equitable in all circumstances. The FAIS Ombud offices are located in the east of Pretoria in Gauteng.
 
The FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint a Supply Chain Management Administrator to provide full administrative support to the Supply Chain Department team and to co-ordinate the end-to-end supply chain processes for the FAIS Ombud.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with suppliers and request quotations.
  • Assist with the selection of appropriate suppliers, contractors and/or consultants, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards, legislative and policy requirements.
  • Procure goods and services in accordance with the Supply Chain Management policies and National Treasury prescripts, Public Finance Management Act, Preferential Procurement Regulations, and other public procurement regulations.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure that they are approved before being issued.
  • Assist with tender specification and evaluation processes.
  • Liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient running of the operation and delivery of key business objectives.
  • Proactively communicate any issues that arise relating to procurement processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update the registers applicable to the Supply Chain Management department namely, contract and deviation registers.
 
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • National Senior Certificate 
  • Post-matric qualification in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in procurement space.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain processes, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations will be an added advantage.
 
Other Key Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good Interpersonal skills; excellent administrative skills – be able to work with a high level of accuracy; be able to work under pressure. Must be able to work as part of a team; must be able to work reliably and responsibly with internal and external stakeholders.
