DESKTOP SUPPORT AND SERVER ADMINISTRATOR X2
 
Purpose of the Job
To ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our network. The ideal candidate will also be responsible to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment and handling technical support issues for users as and when they arise. The person appointed to this position will report to the ICT Manager.
 
Requirements
Computer Science or Information Technology Nation Diploma or Degree or equivalent.   ITIL Foundation, N+ and A+ will be added advantages. 3 – 5 years’ experience as a server Administrator and Desktop Support Technician. Knowledge and experience in IT security will be an added advantage.  Knowledge of Telephone management system and Microsoft CRM and Sage 300 will be required.
 
Key Performance Areas
  • Provide end-user support and systems administration and attend to computer and server equipment installation and configuration.
  • Ensure servers are configured as per the ICT policies and manage active directory and provide desktop management, email management and printer support.
  • Liaise with suppliers for maintenance and repair of hardware and contribute to the developing, implementation and enforcing of all IT policies.
  • Provide support to all business system and perform regular system updates on servers and desktops.
  • Investigate and follow up on all incidents logged on the help desk system (including preparation of any documentation required)
  • Configure user’s desktop as per the ICT policies, telephone, and printers.
  • Manage the provisioning of all Server related Infrastructure Services by planning and coordinating to ensure the availability of the services according to SLA’s.
  • Repair and recover data from hardware, software, or networking failures.
  • Execute a planned program of virus updates, patch, and service pack management, including testing, deployment staging, and documentation.
  • Provide support and assistance to the IT Network and Security Specialist as needed.
  • Perform disaster recovery testing for all business application and provide user training as and when required.
  • Assist with any other duties as may be determined by management.

The applicant must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Must be computer literate, general office etiquette, active listening, critical thinking, analytical thinking, attention to detail, proficiency in using Ms office, good communication skills (technical and non-technical), output driven, good interpersonal skills, diligent, a self-starter, energetic and a team player. The candidate must have the ability to establish priorities and manage several tasks.

FAIS OMBUD GRADUATE PROGRAMME INTAKE 2023/24

The Office of the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) is established in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002 (the FAIS Act). Its objective is to consider and dispose of complaints in a procedurally fair, informal, economical and expeditious manner and by reference to what is equitable in all circumstances. The FAIS offices are in the east of Pretoria in Gauteng.
In order to discharge its mandate, the FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint Graduate Trainees as part of the Graduate Recruitment Programme.  This is a structured programme specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent trainee entrants to the labour market.
Duration – The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.
 
Roll out of the Programme:  Recommended candidates will be given an opportunity to learn under a dedicated mentor. Graduates will be assigned to various Departments, based on their qualifications and aspirations, and exposed to various competency-based training during the duration of the twelve-month programme. Graduates will be based in the following Departments:

Requirements for application

  • Must be computer literate.
  • PLT (Practical Legal Training) will be an advantage.
