Invitation to Serve on the Information Technology Review Committee (ITRC) of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa: Three (3) Positions 
 
 
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is a public entity responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications, broadcasting and postal industries in South Africa, as mandated by the ICASA Act, No 13 of 2000, and Electronic Communications Act, No 36 of 2005. ICASA hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to serve on its Information Technology Review Committee (ITRC) at its Head Office in Centurion for a period of three (3) years. 
ITRC’s role is to ensure that prudent and reasonable steps are taken with regard to Information Technology (IT) Governance of ICASA.
 
Requirements: An Honours degree or a Post Graduate qualification in the field of Information Technology and Communication. In addition to a qualification, prospective candidates should also have certification in IT Governance or CISA and demonstrate an understanding of IT controls (audit certification). Candidates should also have experience in working at executive/board level.

Term of Office: Successful candidates will serve as part-time members of the ITRC for a period of three (3) years and will be subject to the ITRC Terms of Reference and such other terms and conditions as prescribed by law and the Council of the Authority. 
 
Disqualification in terms of section 6 of the ICASA Act No. 13 of 2000 (as amended) is applicable: Applicants may not among other things have a direct or indirect financial interest in the electronic communications, broadcasting or postal sectors; be a public servant or the holder of any other remunerated position under the State; be a Member of Parliament, any provincial legislature or any municipal/ council; be an office bearer or employee of any party, movement or organization of a party-political nature.
