The Foundation is an independent Trust, established by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) with the sole purpose of promoting and funding financial consumer education initiatives that are developed, implemented, and managed by the Consumer Education Department (CED) of the FSCA. The aim of these initiatives is to increase the level of financial literacy of both existing and potential consumers of financial products and services. Duties of Trustees will include, but is not limited to: • Supporting the FSCA in meeting its mandate of providing and promoting financial education in South Africa. • Attending Foundation Sub-Committee and Board meetings at least twice a year. • Attending Foundation funded projects. • Providing expert input into project proposals for the funding of consumer financial education initiatives. • Collectively making decisions on project selection and implementation. • Connecting the Foundation to networks within the Financial Sector for potential funding/donation opportunities. Remuneration: • Trustees are remunerated on an hourly basis for meeting preparation, meeting attendance and travel. • Trustees are appointed for a maximum term of office of three (3) years and may be reappointed but may not serve more than three (3) consecutive terms of office. OPERATIONS MANAGER - ICT APPLICATION, INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (PRETORIA) Reference Number: FSCA563 Description Purpose of the Job: To ensure availability of FSCA ICT systems and applications. To ensure improvement on performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organisational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. To organise and control production by ensuring that ICT services are developed and delivered efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the production operations of ICT department. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for service delivery management to internal and external business stakeholders by all FSCA ICT areas. The person appointed to this position will report to the Head of Department: Applications and Operations Key Performance Areas: • Coordinate, manage and monitor the working of various ICT production areas; • Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of ICT services; • Monitor ICT department performance and implement improvements; • Participate in the development of strategic plans for operational activity; • Implement and manage operational plans; • Ensure quality of products and service delivery; • Manage and report on Service Level Agreements (SLA) – internal and external with service providers • Manage maintenance of ICT services and equipment; • Ensure that operational budget requirements are identified and submitted on time; • Adhere to supply chain processes and timelines; • Ensure adherence to FSCA’s HR and ICT policy by all ICT staff; • Provide management reports on all ICT Services to business; • Facilitate coordination and communication between business and ICT including service providers, suppliers and internal FSCA customers; • Participate in all scheduled meetings with the various departments and with the industry representatives when required to do so; • Liaise with various external suppliers to ensure that a relevant solution is identified so as to conform to the business needs of the FSCA; • Develop relationships with all ICT managers and FSCA business unit managers to support enterprise objectives, influence key stakeholders and jointly develop strategic sourcing strategies; and • Continuously manage, coach and mentor ICT Operations staff. DATA QUALITY ENGINEER - ICT DATA AND ANALYTICS SERVICES (PRETORIA) Reference Number: FSCA1031 Description Purpose of the Job: To implement data management controls and perform data quality checks across all data assets throughout the delivery levels of the enterprise data landscape. The person appointed to this position will report directly to Senior Specialist: Data and Analytics. Key Performance Areas: • Find and facilitate cleaning of bad data in the data sources. Work with application developers and Business users to create processes to prevent data quality problems. • Design, develop, document, and perform data quality checks and maintain data quality assurance throughout the enterprise data landscape. • Work in conjunction with Data Engineers to model, calculate and track data quality results. • Work closely with Data Services Manager and implement data compliance initiatives and projects. • Write reports to evaluate and analyse data content at source and on the consolidated data platform. • Create dashboards to highlight data quality content and overall population metrics. • Analyze incoming data feeds for completeness, content, and data expectation. • Identify trends and analyse data content across time and regulatory dimensions. • Analyze data content and identify gaps in metadata/reference data and standardizations. • Work with members of the Data Engineering team, Data Stewards and business SME’s in order to understand content and quality of data required to support regulatory mandate. • Develop and design data quality solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying data flow, data usage, and work processes; understanding data product needs across a suite of business deliverables. • Monitor ETL jobs, metric/logging activity, reports, Power BI dashboards, and data pipelines. • Create Power BI dashboards to present data quality metrics and other data governance related metrices. • Generate overall data platform level content and metrics in Power BI dashboards to provide visibility to business teams of data completeness and governance within the data landscape. • Create alert mechanisms for data quality issues, data receipt and completeness based on expected calendars and schedules.
