COEGA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (CDC)
Coega Global Scholars Programme
INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS
The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) recently launched the Coega Global Scholars Programme (CGSP). The CGSP, a ground-breaking and innovative Talent Identification and Retention Programme, is geared towards strengthening the capacity of the CDC by identifying talent, developing the next generation of leaders, and exposing potential Applicants to Top Tier Global Universities in academic disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and related interdisciplinary studies. The aim is to ensure that candidates receive the best global and high-quality academic exposure, in a cost-effective manner for the CDC.
To realise the above, the CDC invites Applicants with the requisite aptitude, interest, and capacity to participate in the Coega Global Scholars Programme (CGSP) to submit applications for academic programmes in the disciplines outlined below. These are defined broadly as a family of qualifications, and the CDC will exercise the necessary flexibility in judging relevance of an actual qualification since the qualifications are not described similarly across all institutions.

• Thereafter, Applicants would be required to submit applications to the Academic Institutions of their choice. It is generally preferred for Applicants to have an Honours Degree, however this may not be a pre-requirement for all qualifications, therefore Applicants should indicate in the application that they have checked their current qualification is likely to be sufficient.
The CGSP is targeting a pool of talent with at least 60% women to ensure sustainable gender representation and organisational transformation. In each cohort that is selected, a minimum of 40% of the selected Applicants will be those who choose Asian Academic Institutions. The selected list of Academic Institutions can be found on the Coega website in the CGSP presentation through this link: http://extranet.coega.co.za/ealbum/content/Coega_Global_Scholars_Programme_Presentation_25_June_2021/index-h5.html
