.ZADNA ICT Co-ordinator (Permanent) The ZA Domain Name Authority (.ZADNA) is the regulator and manager of dotZA (.ZA) – South Africa’s domain namespace. ZADNA is a statutory entity founded in terms of Chapter X of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Its key responsibilities are to license and regulate .ZA registries and registrars, and to develop and implement policy guidelines for the .za namespace. It manages both commercial and non-commercial SLDs, including .co.za, org.za, mil.za and .net.za. .ZADNA seeks to appoint an ICT Co-ordinator on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is maintain our ICT systems and networks to execute technical and administrative tasks and maintain our computers and networking systems working to their maximum capacity with greatest efficiency.
Key responsibilities: • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications. • Ensure security, non-failure and resilience of video/voice communication systems. • Conduct safety and electrical checks on all systems to maintain efficiency of service. • Create a database of reliable suppliers of ICT equipment to facilitate product and service acquisition. • Troubleshoot arising system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults. • Provide reliable and accurate reports on all systems, applications etc. so as to provide evidence of system uptime, faults etc. • Maintain, monitor and repair: Document management systems, ICT servers, remote access systems and other specific ICT systems implemented. • Training of staff on ICT and related programs where necessary. • Ensure that systems are configured to automatically protect the network and to advise staff of risks where automation is not possible. • Develop training and instruction manuals for staff. • As when needed, conduct Registry-Reseller Training. • Participate in administering backup and recovery operations by maintaining and monitoring systems backup equipment and data. • Assist in ensuring that off-site recovery requirements are constantly in place and functional. • Co-operate in the compilation, testing and execution of the Information and Cyber Security environment. • Co-operate in the compilation, testing and execution of the Information Governance and Disaster Recovery controls. • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace. • Assist in ensuring that business plan outputs, risk actions and audit findings are dealt with within the required timeframes. • Provide monthly and quarterly reports for the business unit reporting on performance information. • Assist with ICT requirements in meetings and events. • Prepare recommendations for procurement to the relevant Manager. • Maintain external relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external consultants on specific projects. Qualifications • Diploma in ICT/Computer Engineering/ or Similar (NQF 6); • NQF 7 qualifications in IT or equivalent will be an added advantage; • A+; • N+; and • S+ will be an added advantage. Experience • 4 years experience as an ICT Coordinator or related role; • Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations; • Expertise in configuring and managing Apple iOS and Android devices; • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical personnel; • Expertise in administration and management of Microsoft 0365 and M365; • In addition to proven foundation in management and maintenance of IT systems, strong professional interest in communications; • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision; and • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and strong interest in professional growth; Related Knowledge, Competencies and Skills • Knowledge on Information Technology infrastructure • Knowledge of relevant IT solutions, products and services • Legal and regulatory requirements, e.g. ECTA (Electronic Communications and Transaction Act), POPI and King IV • Thorough knowledge of applicable ICT related legislation and regulations • Organisational policies and procedures • Principles and practices of project management • Principles and practices of Internet governance and Information security • Legislative frameworks governing ZADNA, in particular regarding information security and access to information • Knowledge of industry standards, best practices and developments in Internet governance discipline • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
