WITZENBERG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY Witzenberg Municipality comprises of the following towns namely: Ceres, Tulbagh, Wolseley P.A. Hamlet and Op die Berg. The successful applicants will be stationed at the Head Office in Ceres and must be committed to the achievement of Witzenberg Municipality's vision, namely: “A Municipality that cares for its community, creating growth and opportunities"
•An understanding of the integrated nature of an effective municipal administration •Ability to engage strategically with the Executive Councillors, communities and residents •An appreciation of the centrality of the IDP for effective service delivery •A high degree of aptitude to strategic/operational planning and management, decision-making, leadership, innovation and motivation •General management skills, computer skills and a valid driver's licence •Where an applicant does not have the required Minimum Competencies as required by the MFMA, the applicant must obtain the required modules within 18 months of appointment.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (5-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT) Requirements:•At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a relevant equivalent qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework at NQF level 7 with a minimum of 360 credits •At least five years appropriate experience at senior and middle management level of which at least two years (preferably three years) must have been at a senior management level •Sound knowledge of and prior exposure to local government operations and municipal financial management •Strong visionary and leadership abilities with strategic thinking and decision-making skills •In-depth knowledge of local government legislation and the statutory requirements relating to the post •Core skills as set out in the Local Government: Regulations on Appointment and Conditions of Service of Senior Managers, 17 January 2014 as prescribed in Annexure A thereof •Excellent facilitation and communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape •A valid Code B driver's licence •Where an applicant does not have the required Minimum Competencies as required by the MFMA, the applicant must obtain the required modules within 18 months of appointment.
