Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced individuals for the Pretoria-based position of: CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE (PERMANENT APPOINTMENT)
KEY QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be in possession of a Honours degree in Internal Audit (Internal Audit, Risk Management, Accounting), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). A completed CRMA (Certification in Risk Management Assessment) and or Master degree level such as MBA, MCom, M Phil (Internal Audit, IT Audit, etc.) or CA(SA) will be an added advantage. KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED Applicants must have at least 10 years’ experience within Internal Audit, Governance, Risk or Compliance environment in the Public Sector. 5 years’ experience in senior managerial level. Extensive knowledge of the standards set by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the legislative prescripts governing the public entities as well as all administrative processes and procedures (Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Water Research Act etc), Internal Audit and Risk Management principles and practices, and accounting practices and public sector reporting requirements. Risk Analysis and Control Assessment techniques, Analytical Skills, Problem solving tools and techniques, Project Management, and Negotiation skills. Key Job Purpose: The WRC is looking for a CAE who will effectively lead and manage the Internal Audit and add value to the WRC. The Incumbent will report administratively to the Chief Executive Officer and functionally to the Audit, Risk & Finance Committee. Key Performance Areas: The CAE will develop risk-based Internal Audit Plan and a Charter. Oversee and implement risk-based audits in line with approved plan. Ensure complete and accurate audit information is reported to Management and/or ARFC. Develop and maintain a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of the internal audit. Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviours in support of the vision, mission and values of the WRC.
