Key Performance Areas include but not limited to: • Academic leadership: Develop and review course materials, teach and assess students at undergraduate/postgraduate levels, prepare teaching and learning portfolio as evidence of compliance with standards, and take part in Department management tasks delegated by the HOD • Research: Establish research specialisations and lead in conducting research, publish in accredited research outputs, supervise masters and doctoral students to graduation, mentor, and coach other academic staff • Develop curriculum in applicable field of specialisation: Influence the development, maintenance, and control of curriculum in the field of specialisation • Create and maintain collaborative relationship with the industry: Liaise with the industry including consulting work and collaborative research and skills development projects • Participate in University administrative and governance functions. • Conduct ad hoc duties as assigned by the line manager APPLICATION CRITERIA: Qualification and Experience: • PhD/Doctorate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering • Background qualifications must be Bachelor (BEng/ BTech/ BScEng) and Masters Degrees (MEng/ MTech/ MScEng) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering • A minimum of four (4) years of postdoctoral academic experience at senior lecturer level in an institution of higher education • DHET accredited research outputs in accredited journals: • Proven track record of research publications in accredited journals • Proven record of supervision of Masters’ and Doctoral students. • Proven record of external fund attraction and management • Evidence of successful curriculum and academic development, • Evidence of active participation in professional, industry and /or community activities • Knowledge and experience of implementing quality assurance requirements • Evidence of Provision of academic leadership • Experience in the initiation of postgraduate research programmes in the field of specialisations. • Professional registration with Engineering Council of South Africa.
