CONTEXT The University of Zululand (UNIZULU) Council governs the University in terms of the Higher Education Act of 1997 as amended and has a general policy-making and monitoring responsibility. This includes determining guidelines for financial control, human resource matters, the fostering of a positive academic climate and the establishment of general University policy. APPOINTMENT OF EXTERNAL COUNCIL MEMBER ON THE BASIS OF EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE The UNIZULU Council has one (1) vacancy in this category. REQUIREMENTS The qualifying individual must have: Knowledge of the higher education and training matters in general. Experience and expertise on finance and investment matters. PROCEDURE General Nominations must be accompanied by a Curriculum Vitae of a nominee, full details (and appropriate signatures) of the person(s) electing a nominee as well as the rationale for the nomination. The Registrar will deal with the nominations in accordance with the election procedures set out in the UNIZULU Statute.
