SENIOR MANAGER: OPERATIONS P7 SIYABUSWA CAMPUS The primary purpose of this position is to manage all operations at the Siyabuswa Campus, develop and implement divisional plans. The incumbent will ensure effective implementation of the facilities management system and manage physical resources of the campus. In addition, the incumbent will contribute towards the improvement of security services. SENIOR MANAGER: MAINTENANCE & INFRASTRUCTURE P7 MBOMBELA CAMPUS The primary role of this position is to manage the equipment and estate maintenance programs for the Mbombela Campus. The incumbent directs and monitors building renovation and major re-modeling projects and all horticultural activities on the Mbombela and Siyabuswa Campuses. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for problem solving technical complications within the division and contribution to the overall administration, management, planning, organizing, and staffing of the Operations Division in the enforcement and implementation of all policies and procedures is required. SECURITY MANAGER (P8) MBOMBELA CAMPUS The primary role of this position is to maintain effective security management services as described in the security policy and security master plan. The incumbent must advise the UMP on matters pertaining to continuous security improvement of its related policies, procedures and management practices. DIRECTOR: NEW INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS THREE (3) YEAR FIXED TERM FULL TIME CONTRACT APPOINTMENT P5 NEW INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS DIVISION (MBOMBELA CAMPUS) The primary role of this position is to ensure that construction projects aremanaged and implemented by Project Managers in accordance with the approved contracts and construction programmes. The incumbent must ensure that construction contractors work orders are issued to contractors in accordance with Governance Framework of the University. In addition ensures Task Orders to Built environment professionals are issued in accordance with the governance framework of the University. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • A relevant four-year Bachelor’s degree in Built Environment. • A Master's degree in Built Environment or Business Management. • Professional Registration with one of the Built Environment Councils. • A total of nine (9) years' Post Qualification Construction Project Management work experience. • Six (6) years' post professional registration construction project management work experience. • Three (3) years' in leading construction projects implementation works. • Two (2) years’ experience in implementing construction projects using the New Engineering Contract Form. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: • Implement and monitor construction projects in accordance with the approved by-weekly construction projects schedule. • Maintain and revise construction contracts programmes in accordance with approved contract requirements. • Monitor that payments recommended by Project Managers to contractors and built environment professionals are in accordance with progress made at various construction sites. • Monitor full compliance of construction projects to regulatory requirements. e.g., Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Act. • Develop and maintain Annual Performance Plans (APP) in accordance with the University’s reporting requirements. • Report project progress on construction projects timeously to various statutory bodies, MANCO, FPIC (Facilities, Planning Infrastructure Committee), Vice Chancellor and DHET Department of Higher Education and Training in line with the values of the University. DEPUTY DIRECTOR: HIGHER EDUCATION MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM P6 MBOMBELA CAMPUS The primary role of this position is to oversee the effective updating and verification of the Academic Structure of the University and the verification of, documentation and compliance with the Universities Programme Qualification Mix. Also embedded in this function is the submission of HEMIS data to the Department of Higher Education for state subsidy purposes and supply data for various other functions including for planning and research purposes. DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL SCIENCES P4 (5 YEAR CONTRACT) The primary role of this position is to provide strategic leadership to the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences. The Dean will ensure effective management of the faculty and will foster innovation and promote scholarship in teaching and learning, research and engagement. The term of office for the Dean will be five years and a Dean may serve a maximum of two terms. The Dean must be appointable at Professor level in one of the biological sciences, earth and environmental sciences, or chemistry and will hold a professorial post in the appropriate department. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • A Doctoral qualification in either Agriculture or Natural Sciences. • At least 15 years’ experience as an Educator and Researcher in Higher Education with at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership position such as Head of Department, Deputy Dean or equivalent. • An extensive record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and International journals and invited presentations at national and international conferences. • A substantial record of postgraduate supervision at Masters’ and Doctoral level with some of these students publishing their research. • Active participation in and leadership of learned societies. • Extensive application of disciplinary knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community. • A record of leadership in research, teaching and learning and engagement. • Some understanding of or experience with DHET and HEQC accreditation and quality assurance processes.
