COMMERCIALISATION SPECIALIST (Permanent contract of employment with three months’ probation, Patterson Grade D2, Salary-R 663 658.00 Cost to Company) The purpose of the role is to manage the successful delivery of incubation and ensure the operation and use of the Bioeconomy business incubator facility. Facilitation and achievement of enterprise development goals and objectives. To facilitate the development of high-tech start-up businesses by providing guidance, support, and monitoring to ensure success in the pre-incubation and incubation programmes. The successful incumbent will be required to provide the following deliverables: • Develop, implement, and monitor initiatives appropriate for BioPark business incubation. • Manage and improve incubation service offerings for all portfolios. • Companies with an emphasis on ensuring high graduation rates of companies under incubation. • Co-ordinate and develop a solid pipeline for programme intake. • Recruitment, screening, and retention of start-ups in the Bio-economy sectors • Provide business development support through related business knowledge to start-ups. • Management of the mentorship programme. • Draft quarterly progress reports and update plans on a quarterly basis and as and when requested. • Co-ordinate programme events and training • Work intimately with entrepreneurs and start-up companies in TIH’s BioPark incubation programme. • Ensure effective incubation of innovative technology-based ideas and growth of sustainable businesses. • Participate in the department’s business, planning, proposing new initiatives, operational targets, service delivery improvements, and stakeholder-relations support. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, candidates need to be in possession bachelor’s degree in Commercialisation, Business Management or Entrepreneurship (or equivalent); At least have minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in business or SME development, incubation or working with emerging or early start-up businesses in the Bio-economy sector. The candidate must have the ability to foster, nurture and encourage growth amongst the entrepreneur and the business. CONTRACT MANAGEMENT OFFICER (Permanent contract of employment with three months’ probation, Patterson Grade C3, Salary- R 402 890 Cost to Company) The purpose of this role is to provide support in the Supply Chain department, ensuring the successful delivery of Supply Chain Management System. The successful incumbent will be reporting directly to the Manager: Supply Chain Management and will be required to provide the following deliverables: • Responsible for managing identified customer contracts on behalf of Organization. Handling all aspects of Contract Management, which include contract administration, contract governance and contract compliance management. • Manage all contracts end-to-end. • Establish and enhance internal customer relationships Engage with and support Internal Customers (Advise, consultation etc.) • Provide input to internal customer contract negotiation and review teams. • Validate and attend to customer contract requests. • Facilitate contract signoffs and compile and release signature copies. • Maintain and update standard customer contract templates. • Compile Contract Management reports • Perform contract governance and maintain and update Standards, Policies and Procedures • Identify and track contract risks. • Conduct customer contract performance reviews and provide information to internal customers. • Conduct on-going contract compliance audits. • Support and address contract changes internally • Resolve contract related issues and provide advice/ recommendation/ opinion. • Monitor and measure contract compliance. • Maintain the existing customer contracts information in the system/register. • Upload new customer contracts onto the system/Register. • Update the deviation register. • Provide contract management reports on monthly basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, candidates need to be in possession of a National Diploma or degree in Supply Chain management. CIPS qualification is advantageous. At least have minimum of 3 years` SCM /Procurement experience with one year of Contract/Supplier Performance experience. Should have Knowledge and application of PFMA and Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, Circulars, and another relevant legislative framework; Vendors contract management and negotiations. FRONT DESK COORDINATOR (Permanent contract of employment with three months’ probation, Patterson Grade B4, Salary-R 211 458 Cost to Company) The purpose of this role is to provide full courteous and efficient services to tenants, visitors, customers, and staff members; to deal with telephonic and face-to-face inquiries; take and relate messages; and supply relevant information regarding the company to the public, clients, and customers. The successful incumbent will be reporting directly to the Building and Facilities Manager and will be required to provide the following deliverables: • Be the initial point of contact for all visitors at The Innovation Hub. • Receiving and routing incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally (to both tenants and Staff Members) • Managing of the company stationery and refreshment • Log information on calls received (where required) and maintain a detailed and accurate record. • Provide general company information and/or direct visitors, tenants, and guests. • Take record and convey messages comprehensively and accurately. • Receiving and routing emails to the relevant person(s). • Communicate (verbally and/or in writing) and liaise with tenants, customers, suppliers, visitors, and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively. • Prepare boardrooms and Meeting rooms for both external and internal stakeholders. • Perform routine clerical and general administrative tasks. • Operate a variety of office equipment, including a telephone system, personal computer, and a variety of computer software. • Assist with Facilities administration • Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures. • Stand-in for the Front Desk and Customer Relations Coordinator. • Promote and build the image of the organization by portraying a professional and friendly approach. • Tasks associated with the promotion and enhancement of the team and company’s objectives, coinciding with your experience and skills. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ANALYST (Permanent contract of employment with three months’ probation, Patterson Grade C4, Salary-R498 518 Cost to Company) The purpose of this role is to provide support in intellectual property (IP) and contracts related activities directed at ensuring effective IP identification, analysis, management and commercial exploitation of technologies and innovations developed by TIH’s supported entrepreneurs. Reporting directing to the Senior Manager: Bioeconomy Business Development. The successful incumbent will be required to provide the following deliverables: • Management of the IP process including undertaking searches and advising on strategies for IP protection and Commercialisation for entrepreneurs within TIH’s incubation programmes. • Conduct various types of IP related searches on both propriety and non-propriety patent, design, and trademark databases. • Prepare written reports on the searches conducted, with the view of these reports empowering entrepreneurs to make business decision. • Conduct IP and legal due diligences and provide draft IP opinions. • Provide support to TIH’s incubated companies in drafting and reviewing contracts, licenses, and confidentiality agreements. • Develop and implement IP education, and awareness and management workshops and IP training clinics for entrepreneurs and TIH’s precinct companies. • Train entrepreneurs on patent search methods and search tools • Evaluate applications submitted to the incubation programmes and participate in various organisational evaluation committees. • Conduct IP due diligences and evaluate projects for feasibility and economic viability as well as potential to impact on Gauteng’s economy and participate in project evaluation meetings. • Develop and provide monthly or quarterly graphics and statistics on TIH’s IP filings. • Manage and provide support to the Intellectual Property Portfolio • Monitor and identify IP and innovation trends and approaches in intellectual property management in relation to TIH’s business sectors. • Engage and manage stakeholder relationships regarding IP activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, candidates need to be in possession of Post graduate degree (Science or Engineering) completed or studying towards LLB; and preferably have completed all group 1 of Patent Examination Board curriculum. At least have minimum of 3 years technical and intellectual property management and in project management experience of technology innovation projects or as a researcher; Have report writing, organisational, listening, time management and presentation Skills; Excellent project and stakeholder relationship management; Strong communications; and ability to demonstrate patent searching.
