THE INNOVATION HUB The Innovation Hub Management Company SOC Ltd (TIHMC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), was established by the Gauteng Provincial Government through its Department of Economic Development (GDED) as the innovation agency of the province. TIHMC offers incubation programmes in the Bioeconomy, Green Economy and Smart Industries. The BioPark@Gauteng business incubator, within the bio-economy programme assists entrepreneurs and innovators to commercialise their technologies in the following sectors: health (biopharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostics, indigenous knowledge-based, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals) and agriculture (agro-/food-processing, bioprocessing, smart agriculture). AGRITECH SMME’S, ENTREPRENEURS CALL FOR PROPOSALS PURPOSE OF THE CALL The Innovation Hub Management Company (TIHMC) in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development are looking to recruit five (5) agri-tech entrepreneurs to join the BioPark@Gauteng Business Incubation Programme for enterprise development support. This call is targeted at start-ups/entrepreneurs using modern agricultural technology to increase crop productivity, improve efficiency in the production of food and promoting sustainability in the agri-food value chain. These start-ups should focus primarily on smart, precision, and digital agricultural technologies. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a pitching session and will be selected based on their level of technical and commercialisation readiness.
