Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 • The incumbents must meet the requirements as stipulated by Lifesaving of South Africa’s Certificate • A valid lifeguard certificate. Other Requirements: Physically fit, sober and drug free. All shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo a compulsory fitness test. Proficiency in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Xhosa, English of Afrikaans). Responsibilities/Duties: Perform lifeguard duties to ensure the safety of patrons and to provide a clean and safe facility. Ensuring own safety and that of others while participating in aquatic rescues. Applying the correct/prescribed lifesaving and first aid procedures. Communicating and educating the general public about drowning preventions. Increase participation in sport and recreation by facilitating swimming pool programmes. Monitoring and controlling the discipline and behaviour of patrons at the swimming pool facility. Identifying, preventing and removing hazards and threats to swimming pool users. Minimum Requirements: Grade10 • 2-years relevant experience • Valid Code C1 driver’s license. Other Requirements: The ability to work under pressure, self-discipline, sound interpersonal relations, punctual and sound health • Must be physically fit and healthy with sober habits • Be able to work in all weather conditions • Must be able to work after hours and overtime • Must be able to operate on their own and in a team Must be able to read and write in at least 2 of the 3 Western Cape official languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa). Responsibilities/Duties: Transport the maintenance team and equipment to and from locations. Supervise the team. Interacting with the public if required. Ensure that the planned work schedule is carried out in a productive way to meet the expected standards. To ensure a productive, motivated and contented workgroup. May be required to operate the grass cutting tractor. To ensure that the equipment provided to carry out tasks, is functional and the necessary care taken of it being Municipal assets.
