SENIOR MANAGER: OFFICE OF THE HOU The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is an independent statutory body that was established by the President in terms of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act no. 74 of 1996. The primary mandate of the SIU is to investigate allegations of corruption, malpractice and maladministration in government departments, municipalities and State Institutions, State Owned Entities, and to recover financial losses suffered by State institutions.
