SPECIAL INVESTIGATING UNIT (SIU) The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is an independent statutory body that was established by the President in terms of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act No. 74 of 1996. The primary mandate of the SIU is to investigate allegations of corruption, malpractice and maladministration in government departments, municipalities and State Owned Entities, and to recover financial losses suffered by State institutions. Technical skills: Strong business and financial acumen. Strong management ability. Computer literacy in MS Office packages, with high level Excel skills. Presentation skills. Report writing skills. Required knowledge and behaviour (include but not limited to): Sound knowledge of Forensic Investigative, Legal and Accounting practices. Understanding of public sector legislative practices. Sound knowledge of the PFMA and MFMA. Strategic decision making. Development of tactical plans. Leadership capability. Planning and organizing.
