SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL ACCREDITATION SYSTEM (SANAS) LAS008 - ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST - CALIBRATION Reference Number: LAS008 Closing date: 05 Mar 2024 Position Type: Permanent Location: Pretoria, Gauteng Purpose of the Job: SANAS seeks to employ an experienced Assessment Specialist with strong managerial and operational skills. As Assessment Specialist, the candidate is expected to conduct assessments and implement action plans from business unit objectives in conjunction with the Accreditation Manager. Overview: KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: - Implement action plans from both business unit objectives - Planning and conducting of assessments - Manage assessment teams - Confirm technical correctness of accreditation scopes during assessments - Perform document reviews for new applications and check technical details of the application - Contribute to assessment and financial planning with Accreditation Manager - Participate in departmental projects objectives and deadlines - Interact with various stakeholders and ensure that clients are provided with a satisfactory technical service - Participate in public platforms e.g. conferences, assessor conclaves, stakeholder communication meetings - Confirm all logistics pertaining to assessments that have been arranged by the administrators timeously i.e. accommodation, assessment packs, travel logistics, etc. COMPULSORY REQUIREMENTS: - B Degree in a relevant technical qualification or equivalent qualification (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry) - Minimum of 5 years technical experience, of which 3 years must include accreditation experience - Systems knowledge and practical experience in ISO/IEC 17025 - Knowledge of Accreditation Bodies requirements, i.e. ISO 17011 and ILAC/IAF requirements - A valid driver’s license (this role requires travelling) - Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17043 (Proficiency Testing) and ISO 17034 (Reference Materials) will be advantageous - Registration as a Technical Assessor for the relevant scheme is advantageous COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE: - Ability to manage assessment teams under stressful conditions - Ability to view the complete picture - Good written and verbal communication - Delivering and meeting expectations - Computer literacy – MS Office - Planning, organising and good time management - Adhering to principles and values - Analysing and attention to detail - Working with people and teamwork - Coping with pressure - Persuasive, influential and technically inclined INDUSTRY Government, Public Sector, Parastatal ENQUIRIES: Ms Zelda Strydom on (012) 740 8529 PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: By applying for this position and by submitting information to SANAS Career Services, irrespective as to how such information is submitted, you consent to the collection, collation, processing, and storing of such information and the use and disclosure of such information in accordance with THE POPI Act.
