SOUTH AFRICAN DIAMOND AND PRECIOUS METALS REGULATOR (SADPMR) The South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator, established in terms of Section 3 of the Diamonds Amendment Act, 2005 (Act 29 of 2005), aims to regulate the industry to ensure that the diamond resources and precious metals of the Republic are exploited and developed in the interest of the people of South Africa, to promote equitable access to local beneficiation and ensure compliance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. We invite self-motivated and suitably qualified individuals who wish to stand out in their field to apply for the following vacancy: Fixed Term Contract – (12 Months period) Part-time: Workplace Coach (Ref.2024/01/01) Stipend: R120 000.00 for period of 12 months Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and above in Mining and/or Mineral Commodities related qualifications with 7 years’ experience and above in mining and mineral commodities sector. Knowledge and Skills: Proven experience in providing job coaching and support to individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and clear speaking. Familiarity with job readiness training, job search strategies, and on-the-job support. Knowledge of strengths-based approaches and their application in the workforce. Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Passion for helping others succeed and a results-driven approach. Responsibilities: Coaching of Interns to successfully transfer the required knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform his/her duties at the required set standards in a mining environment. Conduct coaching sessions according to the planned Schedule. Facilitate training/ coaching programs for Interns within the SADPMR. Assume responsibility for effective discipline of Interns. Ensure effective learning/ coaching takes place by continuously assessing the knowledge, skills and attitude of the Interns. Coach Interns on relevant on diamond and precious metals practices and trends. Submit Coaching reports to supervisor. Conduct job readiness training, job search help, and on-the-job support for individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Identify job opportunities and work with individuals, employers, and other relevant parties to overcome any challenges that may arise. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individuals’ progress and job search activities. Collaborate with other members of the SADPMR employment team to provide a comprehensive support system. Assess the professional strengths and weaknesses of Interns and recommend appropriate interventions for improvement. Discover what motivates interns and assist them in utilizing that motivation in the workplace. Create and update records and reports on progress to SADPMR.
