SOUTH AFRICAN COUNCIL FOR SOCIAL SERVICE PROFESSIONS (SACSSP) REGISTRAR One position based in Pretoria/ Internal/ External: Five (5) Year fixed term contract R1 295 088.62 per annum (all-inclusive package) REF: Reg/2023/06/12-FT MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To provide statutory, executive, organisational leadership and strategic direction in respect of the management of the Council as required by the Social Services Professions Act 110 of 1978.
REQUIREMENTS • BA/Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 8 qualification or equivalent) as a social service professional. • Registration as a social service professional with the South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) in terms of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978 is a requirement. • A relevant post graduate qualification (Masters degree or higher) in social work or child and youth care work or in public management or related field will be an added advantage. • A proven track record of at least eight years relevant work experience of which five years should be at senior/middle management level. • A person must be found to be fit and proper person in terms of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978. • No pending inquiries in terms of section 21 of the Social Service Professions Act, 110 of 1978. • Applicants must disclose: o Any pending inquiries in terms of section 21 of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA To provide statutory, executive, organizational, administrative and strategic leadership in respect of the administration of the SACSSP as required by and in compliance with the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978, Regulations and Rules through effective corporate governance; accounting and financial management; legislative compliance and organisational leadership. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS To be considered for this executive position the following competencies a pre-requisite: • Working knowledge and understanding of Social Services Professions Act 110 of 1978. • Strategic management capability. • Service delivery innovation with strong client centric focus. • Programme and project management skill • People management and empowerment • Knowledge management • Problem solving and analytical abilities • Financial Management • Transformation and change management capabilities • Service excellence • Emotional intelligence • Transparency • Integrity DUTIES The primary objective of the Registrar is to: • Ensure the implementation of the mandate of the SACSSP in terms of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978, Regulations and Rules and compliance in this regard. • Ensure the implementation of the SACSSP's strategic and operational plans • Manage and oversee the work of the SACSSP’s Secretariat (administration), including financial managements system, human resources, corporate support services, performance management, administration, statutory obligations and reporting; information and communication technologies, corporate communications and responsiveness to registrants. • Develop and implement, as needed, internal policies for the Secretariat as to ensure effectiveness in the execution of the SACSSP’s mandate. • Facilitate and manage strategic stakeholder relationship with the scope of the SACSSP.
