SAFETY AND SECURITY, SECTOR EDUCATION & TRAINING AUTHORITY (SASSETA) Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) is a public entity, established in terms of Section 9(1) of the Skills Development Act of 1998, as amended. The following contract positions expiring on 31 March 2025 exist in the organisation:
• assisting and ensuring that Board Members comply with the principles of good governance, e.g. King IV, Treasury Regulations, etc.;
• ensuring that Board, Committees and Chambers governance prescripts are kept up to date; • ensuring timely compilation and circulation of documents to all relevant governance structures; • drafting the yearly work plans for the relevant governance structures; and • performing any other duty (ies) that may be delegated by the relevant governance structures from time to time. JOB REQUIREMENTS • A minimum of legal / law or equivalent qualification on corporate governance at NQF Level 7; • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Board / Company Secretary; • A minimum of 5 years' experience in rendering legal advice to the governance structure(s); • Experience in a SETA environment or any other public entity would be an added advantage; • Flexibility in a diverse multi-cultural environment; • Experience in working with stakeholders of diverse constituencies; • Advanced writing skills; • Good computer literacy skills; and • Valid driver's license. 2. PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) All Inclusive Annual Remuneration Package (TCTC): R343 611 Reporting directly to the CEO, the incumbent shall provide professional and administrative support to the CEO by: • acting as a formal channel of communication between the Office of the CEO for both internal and external stakeholders; • interacting with Executive Managers to check on planned activities and keep updated progress of reports; • managing the diary of the CEO and prioritizing critical tasks; • planning and coordinating the execution of all projects under jurisdiction of the CEO's office; • managing and coordinating the visits of high-level delegates in the office of the CEO; • assisting the CEO in the preparation of meetings and coordinate presentations material; • quality assuring all correspondence and documents directed to the CEO's office; • providing secretariat services for the CEO's Office; EXCO and Management meeting as required; • effectively managing the CEO's travel arrangements; • coordinating the collection and processing of the claims on behalf of the CEO's office and ensure that the expenditure of the CEO's office is monitored within the budget; • ensuring that all documents are drafted accurately within the turnaround time, filed securely and confidentiality is maintained on an ongoing basis; and • providing any other administrative support as and when required. JOB REQUIREMENTS • Matric (Grade 12); • A relevant NQF level 6 qualification in Administration or similar is required; • A minimum of 3 years' experience in rendering administrative support at an executive level is required; • Proficiency in Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) at an intermediate level; and • Must be able to absorb pressure and deliver quality work. SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCM) OFFICER All-inclusive Annual Remuneration Package (TCTC): R408 479.00 Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the incumbents shall be responsible for: • providing input in the development and implementation of the operations plans to achieve the approved SCM strategy; • providing input in the development of the SCM procurement policy and procedures; • providing input in the development of the SCM procurement plan on an annual basis; • proving input in the development of the demand strategy on an annual basis; • ensuring compliance to all policies and procedures; • coordinating the completion of and develop specifications and/or terms of reference in line with the demand report and procurement plan; • coordinating Bid Committees' meetings; • placing tender adverts in relevant media; • coordinating the evaluation process and finalise reports for award; • communicating bid decisions to internal and external stakeholders; • coordinating the contract management process with End-User; • drafting SCM contracts in line with the SASSETA contracts templates; • ensuring that the performance and compliance of SCM providers is in line with contractual requirements and SASSETA performance stipulations; • preparing, monitoring and maintaining the contract register; • ensuring the processing of SCM providers invoices in line with the SASSETA policy and procedures; • managing and ensuring safe keeping of SASSETA inventory; • undertaking stock counts quarterly; • building influential relationships with stakeholders to support effective and efficient processing of SASSETA requirements as required; • submitting reports as and when required; • preparing documentation for audit processes; and • performing any other duty(ies) that may be delegated by the SCM Manager from time to time.
