Applications are invited from dynamic individuals for the following challenging position: ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL: UNLISTED INVESTMENTS (Ref: APL:013) Job Grade: * E1 – E4 Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable Centre: Public Investment Corporation, Pretoria Requirements: • Degree (finance and engineering) and relevant commerce degree • Postgraduate qualification MBA/ M.Com/ MFI/MSc/CA/CFA/Engineering and/or any relevant Master’s degree or professional qualifications • Post graduate qualification in tax law/company law • 5 to 8 years of investment experience • FAIS Representative • Negotiation and deal structuring • Industry and sectoral research • Advanced financial modelling skills • Valuations Duties: • Maximize funds committed for investment • Implement investment strategy and philosophy • Proactively identify investment partners and opportunities • Implement portfolio diversification strategy • Lead and manage the whole investment process • Deal screening • Preliminary appraisal of deal • Deal structuring, pricing and negotiation of term sheet • Due diligence scoping, execution and review • Industry and sectoral research analysis • Motivation of investment thesis; • Facilitation of contracting; • Disbursement; • Develop and implement value enhancement strategies at investee company level; • Negotiating exit of investment • Risk management, compliance and reporting • Manage portfolio prudently and enforce ESG discipline; Competencies and skills: • Interpersonal skills • Negotiation skills • Good investment and people judgment • Project Planning and implementation • Time Management and prioritization With the PIC having topped the R2 trillion mark in assets under management and in the process of entering the global investment market, it is the best asset manager any serious professional would want to be associated with.
