Applications are invited from dynamic individuals for the following challenging position: PORTFOLIO MANAGER: CAPITAL MARKET (Ref: PM010) Job Grade: E1-E4 Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable Centre: Public Investment Corporation, Pretoria Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: • B degree in Commerce, Finance or Investment Management • CFA qualification (Advantageous) • 5 years relevant experience • Registered Persons Examinations • FAIS representative Preferred Qualifications: • Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Investment Management Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement: • Knowledge of PFMA, treasury regulations, GRAP and other related legislation and policies • Broad knowledge of financial policies and practices • Knowledge of computer-based financial and other information systems • Understanding of how the public service operates • Communication Skills • Analytically Orientated • Strategic and Critical Thinker • Trading Skills • Financial Market knowledge Internal Use Only Duties: • Adhere to PIC Fixed Income Investment Policy, procedures, mandates and strategy • Manage Fixed Income Portfolios of PIC Clients with the objective of outperforming benchmarks. • To ensure that performance targets of the fixed Income portfolios are met. • To ensure that clients Investments policies and strategy are adhered to. • Reporting on fixed income portfolio characteristics such as: • Active Positions • Trading Activity • Performance against targets • Tactical Asset Allocation of Fixed Income Portfolio • Cash Flows • Liquidity Management of Portfolios • Development of financial models (for internal use) Key Competencies: • Deciding and initiating action • Leading and supervising • Relating and networking • Creating and innovating • Presenting and communicating information • Adhering to principles and values • Applying expertise and technology • Planning and organizing • Delivering results and meeting customer expectations • Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking • Coping with pressure and setbacks With the PIC having exceeded the R2 trillion mark in assets under management as well as entered the global investment market, it is the best asset manager any serious professional would want to be associated with.
