PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER – (Ref NO – PR2022) The Proudly South African Campaign invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a Public Relations Manager on a fixed term contract for 3 years. REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R60 000.00 per month plus benefits.
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. B. Degree in Public Relations or Journalism/Communication. 2. 3 to 5 years of Communication/Public Relations experience. 3. Media/Journalism experience will be advantageous. 4. Evidence of PR black-book, ie. radio producers, presenters, editors, journalists. 5. Proven track record of managing a team. 6. Registration with relevant recognized affiliation bodies. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develops (writes), edits, reviews, researches and obtains approval for public relations materials, including news releases, fact sheets, articles, newsletters, advertorials and speeches. May be required to write technical and/or scientific documents, proposals, or articles related to the work of the Proudly SA Buy Local campaign. 2. Advises staff members within Proudly South African on organisational public relations matters in consultation with the Executive Manager. 3. Responsible for planning, implementing approved related PR and communications strategies, and responses related to institutional issues and crisis management. 4. Responsible for identifying and management of third party supplier/s if required and as delegated to do so. 5. Responsible for the management of critical stakeholders, as identified and mandated. 6. Responsible for communication with stakeholders, i.e. approaching them for different activities and/campaigns and facilitating introductions in support of organisational projects. 7. Ensure compliance of all divisions to related stakeholder management process. 8. Ensure compliance to protocols set out by Proudly South African for critical stakeholder groups in relation to PR and communications. 9. Responsible for the development of a detailed integrated stakeholder map for the PR and Communications function. 10. Oversees the content, production, and distribution of promotional printed materials including those of the annual report, quarterly reports, brochures, flyers, advertorials, newsletters, speeches etc and does required edits accordingly. 11. Manage updates and/or additions to the Proudly South African website and social media platforms. 12. Critical management of a Public Relations agency as and when the company brings one on board for specific projects. 13. Responds to requests for information from the media and the public; distributes promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and press kits; disseminates information via the appropriate media. 14. Oversees all communication between Proudly South African and the media. 15. Closely assists in monitoring and maintenance of the Proudly South African website to ensure that all information is accurate and current. 16. Constantly updates content on all our social media platforms to ensure that all is accurate and up to date at all times. 17. May represent Proudly South African at community and business meetings. 18. Manages media monitoring and draws up monthly and quarterly reports relating to media coverage, publicity, AVEs and PR/Editorial values.
