PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN PUBLIC RELATIONS DIGITAL CONTENT OFFICER – (Ref NO – PRDCO 2023) The Proudly South African Campaign invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Public Relations Digital Content Officer on a fixed term contract for 3 years. REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R20 000.00 – R25 000.00 per month plus benefits.
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Matric and proficient in English. • Bachelor's degree or diploma in either Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Communications or Brand Management. • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role and must have handled a minimum of five accounts within a Public Relations, Digital Marketing or Communications agency. • Knowledgeable on media production, communication, dissemination techniques and methods via written, oral, and visual media. • Knowledgeable on Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and other relevant sites. SKILLS: • Customer and personal service. • Critical thinking, creative and methodical. • Time and project management. • Writing, presentation, and copywriting skills KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PUBLIC RELATIONS • Assist in developing strategies to boost visibility for Proudly South African and its member companies. • Conduct market research on local and global media trends. • Consult with management on ways to identify trends or key group interests/concerns. • To promote Proudly South African by writing interesting and effective press releases and preparing information for media kits and media communications. • Effective PR strategies to promote the Buy Local mandate of Proudly South African. • Update and maintain content posted on the Web together with the PR Manager and Assistant PR Manager. • Develop content together with the Assistant PR Manager for the monthly newsletter. • Track usage of the Proudly South African logo from external stakeholders. MEDIA RELATIONS • Direct enquiries to the PR Manager from the public, the media, and related organisations. • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with media representatives/journalists and update media lists. • Lobby coverage for key activities of Proudly South African. • Keep abreast of the media landscape and develop strategies to drive publicity for the campaign.
DIGITAL MARKETING • Develop engaging content and content execution plans for the Proudly South African website and social media platforms. • Use social media tools to promote Proudly South African initiatives. • Create initiatives, strategies and tactics to encourage traffic on the website and social media pages. • Community Management for all Proudly South African social media pages. • Create and manage link building strategies, content marketing strategies, and social media presence. • Work closely with branding department to develop engaging visual assets for social media. • Monitor and analyse content success and conduct market research and trends (digital marketing – social media trends). • Provide creative support to Proudly South African member companies on the website, social media platforms. • Develop, innovate and present new marketing platforms and strategies. • Identify social media opportunities and tactics that encourage traffic on brand owned pages. • Transform existing pages to be target audience specific and authentic by using content pillars and creative content curation strategies. • Analyse digital data to draw key recommendations around website optimization. • Conduct social media audits to ensure that best practices are utilised. REPORTING • Compile reports for PR Manager and Assistant PR Manager on PR activities and social media. • Monitor and report on social, economic, and political trends that might affect the campaign. • Monitor and analyse media coverage (PR/social media) • Reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) Interested applicants should forward a detailed CV indicating the position and reference number in their subject line.
