OFFICE OF THE VALUER GENERAL (OVG) SPECIALIST: BUSINESS SYSTEMS (PRETORIA) Reference Number OVG202413 Description: Three (3) Year Fixed Term Contract SALARY: R533 172.26 per annum (Level 10) (37% in lieu of benefits) CENTRE: OFFICE OF THE VALUER-GENERAL (PRETORIA) DUTIES Technical Database Management. Maintain, administer, and troubleshoot databases, software, and configurations. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Implement database security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, ensuring smooth operations. Monitor database performance and adjust as needed. Collaborate with users to solve system problems and coordinate database access. Develop scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development. Create physical and logical database models based on business requirements. Provide database solutions aligned with technical documents and business needs. Prepare comprehensive documentation for database design and management tasks. Coordinate requests for service, application issues, upgrades, and patches with the software vendors. Operational Technology (OT) Solution Development. Design, develop, and implement Operational Technology solutions to enhance operational performance. Analyse systems to identify areas for improvement in functionality and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address business needs. Provide end-user support, training, and technical guidance on system applications. Configure and deploy OT software and hardware solutions. Ensure system functionality and data integrity through testing and quality assurance. Develop and maintain technical documentation and system manuals. Application Support and Analysis. Collaborate with business users, offering support, troubleshooting, and training. Gather and document user requirements for system enhancements. Ensure compliance with Change Management, Security policies, and regulatory requirements. Develop, test, debug, and document solutions using the applicable Tools. Maintain comprehensive user guides and documentation. Bridge communication between technical teams and business users. Manage licenses across all business applications. Review all transaction required for month end closure and review month-end user profile file. Compile weekly performance reports to the manager. Maintain user profiles and review additions, deletions, changes, and passwords resets. Maintain audit trail reports. Maintenance of integration within ERP system and the related business applications. Manage and troubleshoot ERP system errors. Review master data records. Prepare documents for audit requests/ queries. Assist with the management of month-end and year-end system closures. Systems Design & Delivery. Assist with installation, implementation, and testing of new products. Supervise co-ordination of training. Conduct training of end-users on the new business applications. Co-ordinate and test upgrades within the ERP system and the related business applications. Provide inputs into the improvement of existing, proposed systems and processes. Provide inputs into the development of business cases for improved or new business applications. Manage access to the ERP system servers. Technical Integration and Development. Possess strong integration pattern and API knowledge. Proficient in Oracle and Java. Strong analytical skills and ability to interact with stakeholders. Transition between technical and development roles as needed. Problem solving and customer focused delivery. Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying issues, troubleshooting problems, and finding creative solutions. Embrace change and adapt to evolving technologies, methodologies, and business requirements. Prioritize the needs of end-users and stakeholders, delivering exceptional support and service. REQUIREMENTS: Formal Qualifications: A minimum of National Diploma (NQF 6) in Computer Science, Software Development Information Technology, or related technology discipline. Certification on SAGE ERP Products – Evolution, CRM or People is preferred. Job-Related Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in administering, supporting, and maintaining CRM, ECM and ERP Applications relating to SAGE ERP Products. Experience in multiple ERP software development and implementation projects. Relevant work experience in the state-owned entities is preferred, along with specific technical skills such as knowledge of cybersecurity principles, and experience with specific software and hardware systems. Job-Related Knowledge: Proficiency in analysing complex business requirements and translating them into effective system solutions. Sound knowledge of multiple IT platforms/ disciplines (i.e. Operating Systems, IT facilities, IT Infrastructure, Knowledge Information Management). Disaster Recovery Planning and management abilities. Exposure to Content Management and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and policy development and implementation will be an added advantage. Strong Communication, Customer management, Financial Management, Interpersonal skills, and conflict management. IT Project Management, Analytical and Decision-Making skills. Business Analysis experience to ensure implementation of business decisions. Sound knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), COBIT and TOGAF standards and ICT related legislations Another requirement: Training Knowledge of CRM, Direct-Hire and AMS360. Power BI certification. Knowledge of Dynamics. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint. Familiarity with relevant technology tools and software used in property evaluation, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), valuation software, and database management tools.
