PART TIME VACANCY LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR EDITOR Contract Term: 60-months fixed term contract Location: Remote working via Zoom. This will suit a semi-retired journal editor. The National Museum is seeking a well experienced person to be appointed as a language and grammar editor for scientific publications as well as other editing work. The editor will be responsible for all our editing at the Museum which includes primarily editing scientific articles for our online magazine and journal prior to publication. The Museum will enter a 5-year fixed term contract directly with the successful individual. The contract may be renewed. Requirements: • A relevant scientific tertiary qualification in human or natural science at minimum NQF level 9. Must have at least 10 years’ experience as a language and grammar editor with at least 3 years as an editor of a scientific publication in human or natural science. PART TIME VACANCY 1)1x Disciplinary or Grievance Committee Chairperson (Legal) 2)1x Disciplinary Committee member (PFMA expert) Contract Term: 36-month fixed term contract Location: Remote working via Zoom The National Museum is seeking a well experienced person to be appointed as Chairperson for Disciplinary or Grievance Committee (Legal) and 1x committee member (PFMA expert). The Chairperson will be responsible for chairing disciplinary or grievance hearings. Where matters have a financial or PFMA related impact, the Chairperson will sit with the committee member who will be the PFMA expert. The Museum will enter a 3-year contract directly with the successful individuals. The contract may be renewed. Requirements: •Ordinary member: A relevant tertiary qualification minimum NQF level 7 in the field of Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Auditing, or related field; preference will be given to applicants in possession of a CA (SA), RGA, or ACCA. Registered and in good standing with professional body. Must have at least 3 years’ experience serving on an Audit and/or Risk Committee of a PFMA entity. Have a thorough understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, etc. •Chairperson: A relevant tertiary qualification minimum NQF level 7 in law. Compulsory for the candidate to be registered and in good standing with Legal Practise Council. Must have 5 years of experience serving as Chairperson of Disciplinary Committees. Preference will be given to candidate who has experience as a CCMA commissioner or Bargaining Council Panel. Remuneration: The Museum will remunerate the incumbents at the daily rate of member/ Chairperson in accordance with Treasury guidelines applicable to DSAC entities as amended from time to time. Closing date: 11 August 2023 Key Performance Areas: •Conduct disciplinary or grievance hearings in accordance with internal National Museum policies and best practise.
