NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL OF SOUTH AFRICA (NAC) FIXED TERM POSITION AVAILABLE The National Arts Council of South Africa is looking to attract dynamic, passionate, and innovative self-starters with a solid understanding of the Creative Industries Sector. REQUIREMENTS (full job specification is available upon request) PROJECT MANAGER The Project Manager will, manage and execute all the NAC’s funding programmes, national and international strategic projects. Additional role requirements are • Supporting the Arts Development Manager to develop and implement strategies and plans for the projects • Contributing to and implementing arts development policies, procedures and processes in accordance with project requirements and Governing bodies stipulations • Knowledge of the arts, creative and culture sector and grant making processes • Manage projects to ensure that all contractual obligations are met • Coordination and implementation of funding programmes • Activity and resource planning • Oversight of any risks and issues arising • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction • Create and update workflows and project plans • Monitor reports, documentation and project progress • Act as a point of contact for all stakeholders • Ensure that governance protocols are adhered to • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation including coordinating, managing, and reporting to adjudicating panels • Collaborating and Networking with relevant stakeholders guided by the Arts Development Manager • Developing and maintaining information system Minimum education requirement • National Diploma/Degree in Finance/Office Administration/Management, Project Management or relevant equivalent qualification, NQF Level 7 Required experience • 5 years relevant experience in the arts, with local, continental and global exposure, including project management. • Extensive Grant Management System (GMS) working experience (essential) Knowledge areas MS Office Suite - Essential Project management - Essential Strong understanding of the NAC Sector – Desirable Skills Excellent in GMS/IT skills - Essential Planning, organising, and prioritising - Essential Excellent MS Excel skills - Essential Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal) - Essential A market related package will be negotiated with the successful candidate(s).
