Key Performance Areas: Draft the annual programme of Parliamentary Committees as per the strategic objectives • Provide support and procedural advise to the Select Committee on Programming and Prioritisation, Select Committee of Chairpersons, Select Committee on Rules and Select Committee on Members' Affairs • Ensure liaison between Mpumalanga Legislature and National Parliament (NCOP) • Provide support to the work of permanent delegates when they are in the province • Be responsible for performance management and development of staff in the unit. RES RCHER X2 (1x Social and 1x Economic Cluster) REF: MPL/03101/2023 Salary: R 678 883.00 (excluding benefits) Requirements: An appropriate Honours Degree in Agricultural Economics or Social Sciences NQF Level 08 • A Masters qualification NQF Level 09 or higher will be an added advantage • Extensive appropriate knowledge and experience in research matters pertaining to the legislative sector • Familiarity with various research and written methods. • A valid Driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively. Key Performance Areas: Render efficient and effective commissioned and proactive research service to the legislature committees and administrative sections. Conduct research and policy analysis on provincial department 's budget and policy speeches, annual reports, audit reports, annual performance plans, strategic plans and budget statements • Provide any other research support to the Legislature Committees and Members of the Legislature LANGUAGE PRACTITIONER: XITSONGA Ref: MPL/05101/2023 Salary: R485 810.00 Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree or a three year diploma in languages/linguistics or equivalent qualification and three years' experience • ability to listen and type at a high speed • Computer literacy, particularly in MS word • Good verbal and written skills in the official languages • Ability to speak the official languages of the province • willingness to work long hours • ability to work independently ability to work in a team environment • willingness to travel • The ability to communicate in Sign Language will be an added advantage. Key Performance Areas: Producing error-free Hansard verbatim reports of the House and Sectoral Parliaments • Translating Hansard and non-Hansard scripts • Providing interpreting services during Legislature sittings and sectoral parliaments • Transcribing and editing of Member's floor speeches and indexing • translating and editing of Members draft speeches • proofreading of draft speeches before submission • rendering of quality simultaneous interpreting.
