MATTHEW GONIWE SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE (MGSLG) ADVERTISEMENT FOR TEMPORARY/PART-TIME FACILITATORS BACKGROUND Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance (MGSLG) is a Section 21 organisation located in Vrededorp, Johannesburg. MGSLG is an entity of the Gauteng Department of Education and was established to research, develop, implement and evaluate cutting edge capacity building programmes in the areas of school governance, leadership, management and teacher development to empower school governors, principals, deputy principals, HoDs and educators for schools in the Gauteng Province. TEMPORARY SUBJECT FACILITATORS: TEACHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES (NUMBER OF POSITIONS AVAILABLE AS PER PROGRAMME DELIVERY REQUIREMENT) Department /Branch : Teacher Development Unit Reference Number : TD/FAC2023/1 Posting Expiry Date : 05 May 2023 Nature of Contract : Successful candidates will be on the data base of Independent Contractors for a set period and as related to performance JOB SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS To ensure effective and efficient delivery of Teacher Development training and ensure overall impact of the training programmes in the learning community for the period of employment so that data can be utilized in future to modify courses where needed and gauge impact of training in the work environment. The incumbent must be available to work over weekends and/or during the week and must also have their own transport and be willing to travel across the province. The incumbent should have knowledge and experience in education, training delivery, training analysis, development, training and implementation of Teacher Development programmes. In addition the incumbent should have experience of online training delivery and be able to navigate self guided learning through online activities for professional development. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for training, support and development of School Based Department Heads and Teachers. • Facilitation of content, pedagogy, assessment and ICT integration in the delivery of GET and FET phases of schooling including Induction programs for newly appointed teachers and Vocational subjects/Technical Subjects • Will be required to play a Monitoring and Evaluation Role during training. • Responsible for all training management and reporting • Responsible for conducting and analysis of pre and post- tests administered per session. • Responsible for ensuring that all conditions for training are of a high standard. • Manage stakeholder relations at training sites. • Present and promote MGSL in a professional manner at all times. • May be approached to support materials development through materials and training review sessions before and after training. • Compile reports on the training, hygiene factors, candidates’ attendance, training performance and interaction as well as facilitation reflection. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES • Minimum Qualification is a relevant Honours degree, however all additional Qualifications in Education pertinent to Teacher Development and Subject matter knowledge or relevant qualifications in the sector with equivalent field knowledge will be an added advantage. • At least 4 years’ experience in facilitation or facilitation within the education sector. • Any certification in Adult Facilitation will be an added advantage. • Must have effective communication and writing skills. • Must have good computer skills. • Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programmes, eg.MS Word & MS PPT,EXCEL TEAMS, etc NB.
