MANDELA BAY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (MBDA) CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER The Position The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) is a public sector, municipal owned and not-for-profit organisation whose mandate has traditionally been centered around public infrastructure projects. The MBDA undertook a strategic review which revealed a need to consider development in the broader sense that also includes non-capital activities that stimulates pressing socio-economic matters such as youth development, employment creation and support to vulnerable groups, etc. The revised mandate for the next five-year period has been improved to “Enable social, spatial, environmental, and economic transformation, “the MBDA way”. This is a 5-year fixed term performance-based contract. The MBDA offers a market related salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Purpose of the position: Chief Executive Officer The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will position the MBDA to meet its revised mandate in support of the municipality’s development imperatives and strategies in the sectors targeted for development, and as stipulated in the IDP. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the organization by working with the MBDA Board of Directors and the Executive Management team, to establish long-term strategy, business plans and funding models for the MBDA.
