Technical Services Department Manager Technical Services Task Grade Level: 16 (Permanent) Section: Technical Services Basic Salary: R468 535.84 — r580 013.87 p/a Requirements: • Grade 12 • National Diploma/B. Degree in Civil Engineering Services or any relevant qualification • At least 4-5 years' appropriate experience as Programme/Project Manager and/or Civil Engineering environment • Registration with a recognised relevant engineering professional body • Certificate of Competency as recognised in terms of the General Machinery Regulations will be an added advantage • Must have a valid code EB driver's licence • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Key Performance Areas: • Manage the key performance area associated with rehabilitation and maintenance of roads and storm-water drainage • Assist in the planning of the activities of the department • Managing Staff within the department so that they are able to meet the municipality's IDP Objectives • Enforce Municipal Bylaws • Making provisions for the improvement serviced delivery within the municipality • Ability to formulate engineering master planning, project management and implementation • Ability to be an innovative and strategic leader • Good facilitation and communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in North West • Ensure proper labour relations and conditions of employment are maintained and assist with preparation of estimate and control of expenditure in the Department. Corporate Services Department MPAC Researcher Task Grade No: 14 Section: Corporate Services Basic Salary: R360 948.55 — R446 823.53 p/a Requirements: • Grade 12 • BA Degree/Degree in Public Administration/Public Management/BA in Municipal Management & Leadership • At least 4-5 years' appropriate working experience in Local Government • Code EB Drivers licence • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Be able to work independently • Computer literate • Have Good administrative and writing skills • Possession of own vehicle is strongly recommended. Key Performance Areas: • Advise MPAC on accountability and oversight matters • Provide administrative support to ensure functionality of the MPAC committee • Conduct Research on public participation process • Ensure that MPAC reports are tabled in council and track implementation of MPAC resolution by council • Draw the annual MPAC programme in line with the municipal cycle • Responsible for providing, refining and implementing public participation process & policies for different directorates provincial and national. Technical Services Department Electrician Task Grade Level: 9 (Permanent) Section: Operations & Maintenance Basic Salary: R181 455.65 — R224 616.93 p/a Requirements: • Grade 12 • N5 Electrical Engineering Certificate • Qualified Electrician with Trade Test • ORHVS Certificate and wireman licence will be an added advantage • Must have three years relevant experience & Must have a valid drivers' licence. Key Performance Areas: • Construction of high and low tension overhead lines • Maintenance of substations, streetlights and overhead lines and equipment on electrical system • Install and configure traffic lights • Splicing and terminating high/low tension cable • Phasing 11KV/22 kava/22 v switches • Ensuring uninterrupted electric flow • Monitor and control subordinates • Compile and monthly and quarterly reports • Must be prepared to work overtime and perform standby duties.
