LEKWA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY INVITATION TO SERVE AS A CHAIRPERSON OF THE RISK MANAGEMENT, ANTI-FRAUD & ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMITTEE (3 YEARS CONTRACT) Lekwa local municipality calls for applications by interested persons with required skills to serve as a chairperson of the risk management, anti-fraud & anti-corruption committee. In accordance with the provision of Section 62 (1)(c)(i) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act 56 of 2003, the Municipal Manager is required to have and maintain effective, efficient and transparent systems of risk management. Lekwa Local Municipality has established the Risk Management Committee which requires the services of an independent person to serve as a Chairperson.
Minimum requirements: A post graduate degree in Risk Management or Auditing. Must be a member of Institute of Risk Management or studying towards Certified Risk Management Practitioner will be an added advantage. Must have 5 – 10 years working experience at an Executive Management level. Must have at least 5 years experience in the risk management and audit committee or similar committees. Knowledge and understanding of internal controls, project management, governance, risk management principles, accounting practices, ICT and exposure to risk management legislations and policies, anti-fraud and corruption environment. Duties: To review and monitor implementation of the risk management framework, policies and strategy within the Municipality. Advise on integration of risk management into planning, monitoring and reporting processes. Assist in reviewing risk appetite and tolerance level in the Municipality. The committee is expected to conduct its activities in terms of the Public Sector Risk Management Framework, MFMA, Treasury Regulations, Risk Committee Charter and King 111 Report on Corporate Governance. Must prepare and provide written timely reports to the Accounting Officer and Audit Committee on the state of risk management in the institution. Perform any other duties of the Risk Management, Anti-fraud and Anti-Corruption Committee as specified in the Committee Charter. Remuneration: Compensation will be in accordance with rates as determined by National Treasury. Schedules in this regard are issued annually with specific hourly or daily rates. All other refundable expenses are based on the Municipality’s related policies. Term of office: Three (3) years from date of appointment.
