JOBURG ZOO INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERT FACILITIES MANAGER (X1 PERMANENT) • (R728 628.43 - R925 943.14) JOB PURPOSE: Manage the technical/ building team in the development and implementation processes and procedures for the provision of technical/ building services, within the boundaries of ensuring the effective maintenance and refurbishment of all Johannesburg Zoo facilities related to plumbing, fitters, turners and electricians/ welding, painting, fencing, carpentry and other artisan activities. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Supervises activities of artisan teams to ensure job completion and quality: Receives and Issues job cards to artisan teams, both routine and emergency calls • Oversees the planning for routine work • Ensure availability of all required materials • Makes arrangements with the appropriate departmental staff for carrying out the task • Engages with foreman to ensure work is completed • Conducts spot checks on work and quality thereof • Ensures that all projects are completed as per the required standard • Provides recommendation of brands of material required for tasks • Submits purchase requirements for required tools and special equipment • Refers any problems to superior and reports on completion of tasks • Supervises contractor work • Receives and escalates reports on status of tools, equipment and supplies and makes necessary arrangements with Facilities Management for delivery and arrangement of stock requirements. Direct and manage repairs and maintenance teams: Provide direction to supervisors in terms of job card targets and priorities • Oversee the workforce and ensure a healthy and fit staff complement • Oversee and monitor absenteeism and HR statistics • Manage and report disciplinary issues • Performance management and training of staff • Ensure SHEQ compliance and safety training is performed. Monitors fleet and plant utilisation: Monitors fuel usage and reporting thereof • Ensures Facilities Management is engaged with regards to fleet and plant • Conducts equipment audits and monitoring thereof. Fulfils financial and reporting duties: Manages the department's expenditure as per the allocated budget • Provides information on the purchase of equipment, materials and suppliers necessary for maintenance • Manages asset register • Detects and reports on fraudulent transactions and activities. • Collates statistics and prepares reports for the Zoo • Maintains appropriate service and repair records • Audits recordkeeping and inventory activities. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Matric Certificate • Trade Test and approved apprenticeship • 3-5 years' experience in repairs and maintenance • 1-3 years' managerial experience • Safety Training • Code 10 driver's license • First Aid Training. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Maintains JCPZ IT networks (WAN, LAN, intranet, internet): Establishes network specifications by conferring with users, analysing workflow, access, information and security requirements • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendors • Secures network access and implements monitoring and evaluation • Implements network upgrades, by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements • Liaises with contractors and vendors concerning network servers and related systems • Configures and maintains network devices such as switches, routers, and security devices • Designs router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols • Configures, deploys, and maintains windows systems (server and desktop) • Sets up, tests and maintains users/groups, permissions and security • Provides support in server management, server architecture standards and documentations • Liaises with Coordinator to arrange procurement of necessary hardware and NetWare. Maintains network related documentation: Maintains comprehensive documentation of network systems, system configurations, topology, policies and procedures • Maintains a hardware inventory • Documents network access monitoring and evaluation • Maintains records of network issues and resolutions. Maintains network and data security: Works with ICT Governance and Security Specialist to implement data security measures e.g. firewalls, virus protection • Conducts periodic active penetration tests, discovers vulnerabilities and advises of recommended fixes • Develops, maintains, Implements and tests date backup procedures to ensure date availability and reliability • Implements and tests Disaster Recovery Plans • Protects JCPZ by ensuring the confidentiality of IT and IT related information. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: IT Diploma or Degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification • At or N+ Certification • 2-3 years relevant IT experience (including network management).
