INTERNATIONAL TRADE ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION OF SOUTH AFRICA (ITAC) ACCOUNTANT: PAYROLL AND PAYABLES Commencing salary: R376 596 per annum (Ref: ITAC 05/2021)
Accounts payable: Ensure that suppliers are paid within 30 days. Perform monthly creditors’ reconciliations. Ensure that all suppliers receive remittance advices after payments are done. Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries. Assist with monthly close including accruals and variance analysis. Communicate with internal employees to secure appropriate information and approval for payments. Supervise the receipt of invoices, verification and recording of invoice transactions. Ensure all invoices are approved for payment using the correct process. Planning and execution of the vendor payment runs and review of payment batches. Review supplier reconciliations and monthly statements to ensure that outstanding items are cleared timeously. Provide short-term cash forecast for payments due to suppliers. Review and posting of Cashbook and Inventory. Reporting & Analysis: Responsible for generating of monthly payroll reporting after posting. Ensure correctness of tax schedules and postings for the period, including monthly journals and reconciliations. Balance the payroll control accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. Responsible for submission of payroll reports to relevant agencies. Completes balance sheet recons for payroll related accounts and follows up on any reconciling items. Compliance & Governance: Protect confidentiality of employee data. Encourage continuous improvement measures within payroll. Provide support in terms of all audits i.e. internal and external audits. Evaluate and analyse existing payroll and payables policies, procedures and business processes; draft, propose and implement changes and/or quality control measures leading to best practice. Comply with legislative requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
