INKOMATI-USUTHU CATCHMENT MANAGEMENT AGENCY (IUCMA) The Inkomati-Usuthu Catchment Management Agency is a water resources management institution established in terms of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998) to perform sustainable and equitable integrated water resource management within the Inkomati-Usuthu Water Management Area (WMA) in Mpumalanga. Requirements: The candidate must possess a minimum of a three (3) year Degree or National Diploma in Environmental Health/ Safety Management or equivalent qualification. Minimum 3 years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety environment. Registration with South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Knowledge, skills and competencies required: good communication skills (facilitation, negotiation, presentation, verbal and written). Approachable and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Computer Literacy. Team working skills and Stakeholder Management. Problem solving and Strong Analytical Skills. Resilience and flexibility. Honesty and integrity. OHS Act and related legislations. COIDA. Injury on Duty (IOD) processes. Key Performance Areas: Develop and review applicable Occupational Health and Safety standards. Develop and implement programmes, work plans and policies for Occupational Health and Safety. Monitor, evaluate and report on impact of Occupational Health and Safety Programmes. Provide technical advice on all areas of Occupational Health and Safety. Execute Occupational Health and Safety strategies and Directives. Reviewing of environmental impacts and aspects and execution of risk assessments. Handling and investigation of incidents, complaints and non-conformances and make recommendations. Facilitate injury on duty (IOD) cases. Ensure Compliance to COIDA. Conduct security threat assessments, develop security plans, policies, programs, or practices to ensure adequate security relating to issues such as protection of assets, alarm response and access card use. Design or implement security systems, video surveillance, motion detection or closed-circuit television to ensure adequate security for staff, assets, and stakeholders. Conduct security audits to identify potential threats related to physical security, staff safety or asset protection.
