GAUTENG FILM COMMISSION (GFC) GRADUATE INTERNSHIP RE-ADVERTISEMENT: GAUTENG FILM COMMISSION The Gauteng Film Commission is an NPC entity within the Gauteng Provincial Government under the leadership of the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation mandated with the development, promotion and coordination of the film and television production industry in Gauteng. In addition, the Gauteng Film Commission is responsible for positioning the province as a world-class destination for filmmaking as well as attracting local and international investments in the film and television industry. The GFC, in partnership with the MICT SETA, hereby invites interested and suitably qualified individuals to apply for the graduate internship opportunities available at GFC. The Programme seeks to appoint graduate interns for different fields of work as outlined in the table below. A monthly stipend will be paid to successful applicants, based on market and industry rates. Successful interns will be placed at different sites within the industry, in and around Gauteng, to ensure that they receive relevant experience. The GFC issued an advert on 21 July 2023, which closed on 31 July 2023, for 20 internship opportunities in various (12) occupational categories. Following the assessment of applications received in response to the initial advert, the GFC hereby partly re-issues the advert for the specific occupations listed below. Department: 1. Visual Work/Operations Department Role/Occupation: • Make-up artist • Wardrobe assistant Applications Deadline: 25 August 2023 Applicants Status: Open to qualifying graduates who have completed their academic qualifications in different relevant fields of study, and not TVET College students who have completed N6 and require experience for purposes of acquiring their diploma. Minimum Requirements: ▪ Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification. ▪ Relevant tertiary qualification or occupational qualification at minimum NQF level 5. ▪ The applicant should be no more than 35 years of age. ▪ Ability to demonstrate at least basic knowledge, understanding, and exposure to the advertised occupations. ▪ Candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds (Township, Informal Settlements, Rural and Hostels) will be given preference. Proof of address/Affidavit will be required in this regard. ▪ Candidates from designated groups, in terms of the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 as amended, will be given preference. ▪ Applicants must not be enrolled or have previously benefited/ participated in any MICT/ Any SETA funded Programme.
