FILM AND PUBLICATION BOARD (FPB) FPB – INTERNAL / WEBSITE ADVERTISEMENT The Film and Publication Board (FPB) is a Schedule 3 State Entity responsible for the regulation of the creation, production, possession and distribution of films, games, certain publications and the internet by way of classification, and we require the following individuals to carry this forward at our Head Office in Centurion, Pretoria: 2 X QUALITY ASSURERS – (INDEPENDENT CONSULTANCY CONTRACT – 2 YEAR CONTRACT) The Quality Assurer will be responsible to undertake a quality review of the classification of film and game content in terms of compliance with the requirements as stipulated in the Films and Publications Act, 1996 (Act No. 65 of 1996), as amended, the Films and Publications Regulations, 2022, the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 (Act No. 3 of 2000), and the Classification Guidelines of the FPB to ensure that the objectives of the institution are achieved and aligned. Acknowledging the vacancy of two members of the Enforcement Committee and in order to fulfil the requirements of section 4A (1)(h) of the Films and Publications Act, 1996 (Act No. 65 of 1996), as amended, (“the Act”), which requires the Council of the FPB to appoint not more than 5 (five) persons to serve as members of the Enforcement Committee, the FPB invites applications from and/or nominations of suitably qualified persons to be placed on the database for possible consideration for appointment to the Enforcement Committee. A member of the Enforcement Committee must be a person with knowledge and experience in the following fields:
Appointed persons will serve as members of the Enforcement Committee on a part-time basis for a period not exceeding five (5) years (subject to annual performance assessments). While it is not expected that every member of the Enforcement Committee should have all the relevant experience and skills, the nominees or applicants must demonstrate any attributes and/or above skills. Remuneration Nominees must bear in mind that the FPB is a public institutions and serving as a member of the Enforcement Committee should be motivated by public good service rather than self-interest and personal gain. Remuneration (including allowances) will be per the guidelines approved by the Minister in line with section 12 of the Act.
