CIRCULAR 10/2023 INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL EMFULENI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY, WITH ITS HEAD OFFICE SITUATED IN VANDERBIJLPARK, INVITES SUITABLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION: CLUSTER: POLITICAL OFFICE BUSINESS UNIT: EXECUTIVE MAYORS OFFICE POSITION: EXECUTIVE SUPPORT OFFICER (1 POST) REF.C10EM CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Fixed term employment contract linked to the term of the Public Office Bearer. The candidate to be appointed will be stationed at the Head Office: Main Municipal Building in Vanderbijlpark – Corner Klassie Havenga and Frikkie Meyer Street. REMUNERATION: Job level 5 of a Grade 11 Local Authority R936 186.04 (calculated up to a maximum total cost to Council per annum inclusive of Car Allowance, Housing subsidy and other Benefits i.e., Medical AID, U.I.F, Pension Fund, Group Insurance and Cell Phone Allowance is excluded in this package). REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Public Management /Development Management or equivalent qualification in relevant field and Code EB Driver’s License. COMPETENCIES: Excellent written and verbal Communication Skills, Report and Research skills be able to work under pressure, meet the target and be able to work in a team, write reports, letters and memorandums, develop concepts and implementation plan, develop Standard Operating Procedure for the department and track the implementation of Council Resolutions. EXPERIENCE: 3 - 5 years’ experience in the political office or similar post in the relevant field. DUTIES: Provide administrative support to the MMC in executing oversight role in the implementation of the score cards. Monitor and evaluate the progress of the implementation of the catalytic and other project in the department. Monitor the implementation of the executive factions, compile evidence file for the MMC. Manage the interface for the respective cluster departments. Managing communications with the District and relevant Provincial and National Department. Interrelate with communities in terms of cluster/department factions. Conceptualise and coordinate roadshows on policy reviews and projects of the department.
