EASTERN CAPE PARKS AND TOURISM AGENCY (ECPTA)
AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE MEMBERS The Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency is a schedule 3c public entity and established in terms of the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency Act 2 of 2010. The Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency calls on all independent, suitably qualified and interested persons to fill two vacancies on its Audit and Risk Committee. One member should be an ICT Specialist, and this should be indicated in the application. Requirements: Member must have a strong financial management, auditing and risk management and ICT background; Be independent and have knowledge of good Corporate Governance principles and in particular King IV and the Public Finance Management Act, 1 of 1999 as amended (PFMA) and applicable Treasury Regulations. Have the ability to dedicate time to the activities of the ECPTA. Minimum Requirements: A postgraduate qualification in Finance, Auditing, Risk Management, ICT, Governance and Administration or Operational Monitoring. At least 5-10 years’ experience as an Audit and Risk Committee member Responsibilities: To fulfil the roles and responsibilities of the Audit and Risk Committee in terms of the PFMA; applicable Treasury Regulations and other applicable regulatory Frameworks which include reviewing the following. (a) the effectiveness of the internal control systems. (b) the risk management process of the entity and inclusion of the critical risks in the scope of internal and external audits; (c) the adequacy, reliability, and accuracy of financial information provided to management and (d)other users of such information. (e) any accounting and auditing concerns identified as a result of internal and external audit reports. (f) the entity’s compliance with legal and regulatory provisions; (g) the effectiveness and activities of the internal audit function, including its annual work programme, coordination with the external auditors, reports of significant investigations and the responses of management to specific recommendations; and (h) where relevant the independence and objectivity of the external auditors (i) the effectiveness of the adopted Corporate Governance Principles and IMCT strategy and governance in terms of the requirements of King IV.
