EASTERN CAPE PARKS AND TOURISM AGENCY (ECPTA) RESERVE MANAGER CENTRE: EAST LONDON COAST NATURE RESERVE LEVEL: C UPPER Purpose Reporting to the Regional Manager, will manage the biodiversity, heritage, protection and infrastructure of the reserve and the Marine Protected Area (Amathole) through goal orientated management that is aligned with the conservation and tourism objectives of the protected area. Requirements • 3 (three) years tertiary qualification in Nature Conservation / Environmental Management • 5 (five) years’ experience in a junior management position. • Computer literate with computer software and systems such as, GIS, MS Office • Fire Arm Competency Certificate and EMI Level 2 is required • A valid Driver’s License and Police Clearance Key Performance Areas • Financial Management: Provide input and manage in accordance of the Budget • People Management: Ensure that performance of subordinate staff is managed • Infrastructure / Asset Management: Ensure compliance with all Asset Management Policies of ECPTA • Biodiversity and Heritage Management: Stay up to date with latest improvements and legislation and Manage designated Marine Protected Area (MPA) • Law Enforcement: Identify thresholds of potential concern and develop mitigation methods • Tourism Hospitality: Develop and implement a Tourism Development Plan • Stakeholder management: Develop liaison Forums to discuss management issues • Implementation of Strategic Management plans: Review, update and implement the Strategic Management Plan In line with the Employment Equity Policy of the Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency, preference will be given to suitable candidates from the designated groups.
