DURBAN ICC Durban ICC SOC (Ltd) is the managing company for the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC Complex, which includes the International Convention Centre Durban (ICC), the ICC Exhibition Centre and the ICC Arena. GRAPHIC DESIGNER (TG 10) MIN R 286 468 – MAX R475 844.00 PER ANNUM INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer will be required to coordinate and attend to all graphic related needs of internal and external clients by interpreting specifications and requirements accurately. The incumbent will report to the Marketing Manager. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or relevant NQF Level 7 qualification. Minimum two years’ experience in graphic design, architectural drawings or connect/exhibition floor plans Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Strong Computer literacy Competencies Team work. Integrity Analysis and problem solving Judgement & decision making Information seeking/gathering Ability to work under pressure Planning, organising and prioritising Detail & quality focused Confidence in dealing with clients and service providers Excellent communication skills Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content Strong discipline and ability to meet deadlines consistently Ability to develop concepts and ideas effectively KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE Responsible for planning, creating and executing graphic design for marketing collateral, social media and web design to increase user experience. Produce signage throughout the Durban ICC complex. Responsible for planning, creating and executing graphic design for marketing collateral, social media and web design to increase user experience. Create marketing materials and implement website updates. Responsible for improving overall user experience on our social media, website and other platforms. Creation (conception and execution) of print & digital media formats. Responsible for advanced resolution and visualization of final concept output by using visualization tools i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, etc. Create short videos/animations for social media or other marketing initiatives. Prepare design requirements for in house events. Ensure that marketing materials and implement websites are updated. Capture and edit photos for clients and Durban ICC as and when required. Create short videos for social media or other marketing initiatives. Design marketing material for email newsletters and social media platforms. Develop, implement and manage the Durban ICC’s social media strategy. Create and print event menus, wine lists and programmes to suit the client specifications. Develop, maintain and enhance accurate template of floor plans including grid specifications, weight loading and utilities detail. Provide assistance to the Marketing department with preparing bid floor plans and the presentation of floor plan layouts. Responsible for planning, creating and executing graphic design for marketing collateral, social media and web design to increase user experience.
