COUNCIL ON HIGHER EDUCATION (CHE) The South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) is an independent statutory body established by the Higher Education Act (Act No. 101 of 1997, as amended). As the Quality Council for Higher Education in terms of the National Qualifications Framework Act (Act No. 67 of 2008, as amended), it advises the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation on all higher education matters and is responsible for quality assurance and promotion through the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC). The Accreditation Directorate is responsible for evaluation and accreditation of higher education institutions’ (public and private) academic programmes, in accordance with the HEQC’s programme accreditation criteria. Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the following position: EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR DIRECTORATE: ACCREDITATION BASIC SALARY (EXCLUDING BENEFITS) R269 214 PA
Reporting to the Director: Accreditation, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: ▪ Manage the electronic diary of the Director. ▪ Receive and distribute all correspondence to the Director. ▪ Attending to the Director’s mail inbox and replying as required. ▪ Make travel and accommodation arrangements for the Director and other directorate staff, peer academics and invited visitors. ▪ Distribute notices of meetings and documentation and keep a record of respondents. ▪ Take accurate minutes of meetings and distribute them. ▪ Ensure that all meeting records are updated and correctly archived in the file plan. ▪ Submit claims on the Employment Self Service (ESS). ▪ Provide detailed specifications to Supply Chain for required goods and services. ▪ Submit Purchase requisitions and complete memos. ▪ Maintain constant contact with Supply Chain to ensure suitable goods and services are sourced and acquired timeously. ▪ Draft the annual budget. ▪ Reconcile monthly general ledger statements. ▪ Produce quarterly financial demand plans. ▪ Monitor expenditure for the directorate relative to the budget. ▪ Update publication database. ▪ Attend to incoming calls and emails to the directorate. ▪ Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, nationally and internationally. The successful candidate should have: A three-year Diploma in Office Administration/Office Management or equivalent qualification. A minimum of 3 years’ administrative experience coupled by high-level secretarial practice.
