EXECUTIVE MANAGER (INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY) (FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 05 YEARS) Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer: the incumbent in this position should drive innovation in CHIETA’s digitization projects as well as ensure that the innovation strategy, IT strategy, and digital transformation strategy, of CHIETA aligns with CHIETA’s strategy and the overall vision. The incumbent will also be required to ensure the effective coordination and execution of innovation initiatives, as well as drive CHIETA’s complex initiatives through solution design, entrepreneurship, and project management. Minimum Requirements: • An NQF Level 9 in ICT or related fields. • 3-5 years senior management Operational experience in innovation technology or general management within an innovative hub, in a public or private entity. Key Performance Areas • Ensures that the innovation strategy for CHIETA is developed and in place. • Ensures that the Innovation Strategy is work-shopped, understood, and endorsed by key stakeholders such as the Board, Management Teams, and the Ideation Committee. • Ensures that CHIETA as an organization creates a roadmap that will ensure that all innovation and digitization projects are supported and mobilize resources internally and externally to ensure the successful rollout of digitization and innovation projects. • Drives Strategic and transformative initiatives and champion innovation in CHIETA. • Champions a thriving innovation culture within CHIETA, and forms engagement platforms to ensure that the whole of CHIETA gets motivated and excited about new innovative and digitization projects. • Ensures the Innovation portfolio and roadmap is aligned with the innovation strategy and supports the business direction, goals, and priorities. • Managing the CHIETA SMART Skills Centres and reporting to the CEO on performance • Ensuring the effective functioning of the CHIETA Ideation Committee. • Develops business architecture models and ensures that the digitization projects are aligned to what is needed by CHIETA. • Capacitates CHIETA in accordance with compliance architecture, enabling education initiatives for the whole of CHIETA can be empowered. • Ensures new systems and technologies are efficient and provide value as well as support to CHIETA. • Monitors the operation of policy and procedures to ensure the integrity of CHIETA. • Develops and maintains a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of policy and risk activity. • Establishes and maintain a system to monitor the dispositions of results communicated to management. • Ensures that all action plans are in place to address internal and external audit findings and monitor progress against these plans. • Ensures compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks within functional area to prevent fruitless, wasteful and irregular expenditure. • Works collaboratively with stakeholders by establishing and maintaining effective networks and working relationships. • Represents CHIETA in meetings with stakeholders. • Solves problems creatively whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity in line with CHIETA’S core values. • Manages key strategic relationships in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements. • Supports the effective functioning of the office of the CEO. • Contributes to the budget preparation process. • Ensures the effective, efficient, economical, and transparent use of financial and other resources. • Monitors expenditure against budget and ensures spending occurs within budgetary limits. • Explores opportunities to reduce costs. • Ensures divisional, regional, and departmental budget monitoring in line with CHIETA financial guidelines. • Monitors and measures performance quarterly by conducting employee appraisals. • Identifies areas of development and draws up action plans to address poor performance. • Ensures ongoing training and development of employees. • Addresses employee relations matters fairly and promptly. • Sets performance objectives for team by cascading the organisation’s initiatives into individual performance contracts. • Ensures that all employees have signed performance agreements. • Monitors the implementation of the HR policies within the division.
