CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES EDUCATION & TRAINING AUTHORITY (CHIETA) ICT MANAGER: CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) is a statutory body established by the Skills Development Act (Act 97 of 1998) and is a schedule 3A public entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act. The CHIETA has been established to facilitate skills development in the South African Chemical Industries Sector and its mandate includes: the development and implementation of a Sector Skills Plan promoting learning programmes serving as an Education and Training Quality Authority collecting and disbursement of skills development levies liaising with the National Skills Authority and reporting to the Department of Higher Education and Training on its activities. The CHIETA intends to appoint an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Manager on a fixed term contract from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2030 in accordance with the SETA re-licencing period approved by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology. The position is to be located at the CHIETA Head Office in Midrand, Gauteng.
Skills & Attributes: People Management Skills Accurate and meticulous attention to detail Financial Management and Reporting Writing A valid driver’s licence and own car Strong technical understanding of ICT Enterprise Infrastructure, Frameworks and Governance skills Attributes: Analytical, Networking, Reliability, Innovative, Honest KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Manage the CHIETA MIS development (Modules – ETQA, Skills Supply- side and Demand Database, Discretionary Grant, Mandatory Grant) maintenance, support, and improvements as required Conduct development/programming work as required. Manage the CHIETA Infrastructure Enterprise processes and the ICT Unit team. Provide technological strategic planning leadership for the organisation. Develop and maintain project management framework, standards, and procedures for the ICT Department. Assign tasks, develop timelines, and set the unit budgets annually. Coordinate meetings between team members, third parties and monitoring of project process. Manage service providers and ICT unit staff for all ICT work implementation. Develop and present work status to MANCO and the CHIETA Board. Integrate information technologies across CHIETA business for optimal effectiveness. Understand current and future business key success factors and apply them. Develop a renewal and upgrade schedule for CHIETA software programs and ICT business.
