BANKING SECTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY (BANKSETA) CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: INDEPENDENT MEMBERS OF THE BANKSETA AUDIT & RISK COMMITTEE
Applicants should have a working knowledge of the skills development sector in South Africa. Possess High-level business management skills, senior level experience in the governance of complex organisations, financial expertise and specialised skills and experience aligned with the BANKSETA specific mandate. In addition, the following skills, experience and attributes would be an advantage: • Previous experience in financial performance auditing, risk management: fraud risks, internal financial controls, external audit controls • Understanding of Public sector business and controls • Knowledge of internal and external audit functions in the Public sector • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury regulations and their implications • Knowledge of management principles and ethics • Knowledge of Corporate Governance Principles • Knowledge of Information System Technology • Good communication skills • Inquisitiveness and independent judgement • Experience in the Banking Sector and prior experience as an Audit and Risk Committee member will be an added advantage Remuneration: It shall be determined in line with the National Treasury remuneration guideline Tenure: Until 31 July 2025 Successful applicants will serve as members of the Audit and Risk Committee of the BANKSETA. The Committee regulates and discharges all its responsibilities as contained in a charter setting out the appropriate formal terms of reference in line with the PFMA. The Committee meets on a quarterly basis.
